Petrol PC301 Deca Campack
The Petrol PC301 Deca Campack (Black) is designed to carry a camcorder up to 17" long with accessories. The bag is made from 900 denier Cordura and ballistic nylon exterior with a 7-layer polypropylene foam protection system and a brushed orange polyester lining. There is a set of removable internal rigid dividers for custom configuration. The main compartment is multi-cushioned for maximum equipment protection. There is a separate padded neoprene pouch that provides extra protection for a laptop computer with a screen up to 15". The pack has a zippered back pocket, a side zippered pocket and 2 side pockets on the waist belt. It is carried by the Safeback integrated backpack system with heavy-duty padded straps and a waist belt.

Very well constructed and versatile. I needed protection for an AG-HMC40 camcorder and sensitive still equipment as well. This large pack carries it all...If you have a strong back and lots of stamina, this is the pack for maximum capacity!

I'm VERY particular about cases, this bag is spectacular! WAY more protection than any of the similar bags in the same amount of space. Doesn't come with enough dividers to really customize, but it's also about $100 cheaper than anything similar so stock up on additional Modiverse. VERY comfy even with a 6-lens kit of CP.2 (big) lenses. The waist strap has compartments on both sides that PERFECTLY fit Pelican 0910 card cases - I use one side for fresh cards the other for spent.
Also comes with a cover - which ended up saving me in a flash rainstorm - threw it over the camera and made it back to shelter. EXCELLENT bag all over, and even completely stuffed it fits in the overhead of a 737. If you remove the laptop, you can fit it under the seat in a regional jet.

This bag seems a bit oversized for what it can actually carry. The interior dimensions are a quite bit smaller than the exterior dimensions which make me wonder- where is all that space going?
The straps and back are nicely padded and the back has a great lumbar support cushion as well, which would be great if it actually sat in my lumbar spine. I am a thin woman and this bag seemed a bit more suited for a broad man's physique. Not the best fit for the female filmmakers out there. With the support straps pulled all the way taught, it still sat a little loose on me.
The bag did fit in the overhead compartment of a plane, but only barely. It may not be the best for flying on those older, smaller planes. I kept expecting airline attendants to force me to check the bag, but they let me take it up.
The inside made it really easy to find my DSLR kit with spare lenses, audio gear, lavs, harddrives, slate, etc. My laptop fit snuggly in the front pocket as well. After I got everything in there, there wasn't a whole lot of room to spare.
