Comments about Blackmagic Design DaVinci Resolve - V.8 Software:
I'm not really going to go in-depth reviewing the software as I don't think that it's necessary. DaVinci has been the leader in color correction for a long time and Resolve is the go-to color corrector for many big-budget productions. If you are new to color correction then I suggest to give Resolve a try. If you're a professional colorist then you're probably already using it. [...]. Pretty good deal-

Comments about Blackmagic Design DaVinci Resolve - V.8 Software:
Powerful! That's the first thing that comes to mind. Powerful. Yet, still relatively simple to use. I'm coming form an Apple Color world and just by knowing that, I can get around and do about 80% of the stuff that Resolve is capable of.
Real time! That's the next thing that I think of too. It's so refreshing to see all my color grades playback in real time that I'm still amazed every time I hit play. No wonder they call the company Blackmagic...because there is some type of voodoo going on and I like it!
The tracker for power windows is also one of those tools that I don't remember how I lived without it.
If you're serious about making your footage/project look the best that it can, buy Resolve.

Comments about Blackmagic Design DaVinci Resolve - V.8 Software:
This product seems to be pretty mature in most respects. Lots of control. A natural upgrade from Apple Color. Tracking is nothing short of amazing. Only downside is the XML exchange. It's good, but not perfect. Just test your workflow at the beginning, not the end of your project. Still XML does work, it's not perfect. And neither was Color's. I have confidence in Blackmagic to make this even better considering how many legacy FCP and Premiere owners that this software is meant for.

Comments about Blackmagic Design DaVinci Resolve - V.8 Software:
Moving from Apple Color to Resolve seemed like it might be a challenge, but DaVinci seems to have anticipated this move with version 8. Both are powerful tools (though one is DOA), but Resolve adds so many extra options that it's a dream to work in for both colorist and client.
