The Oben AC-2310 3-Section Aluminum Tripod is a sturdy, professional support for any DSLR, point-and-shoot camera, or a compact camcorder. With a load capacity of 17.6 lb and a generous maximum height of 62", the tripod offers a number of advanced features that ensure its stability and reliable performance.
The flip locks, which enable the extension and securing of the leg stages, are user-adjustable. By using a supplied Allen key, the user can tighten two points on each spring-loaded flip lock to safeguard their continued reliable performance.
With its anodized aluminum construction, the AC-2310 is both lightweight (the tripod weighs just under 4 lb) and heavy-duty, ready to survive the rigors of professional work. The tripod chassis is cast aluminum for further strength.
The AC-2310's rapid center column extends with a twist of the butterfly knob. For protecting your camera when the column is retracted quickly, there's a rubber damper under the center-post collar. Steel locking screws underneath the collar enable you to fasten a camera head more securely.
Pull-in/push-out positive leg locks allow you to set the positions of the three legs independently at three different angles. This allows you to shoot from low angles or on uneven terrain. For stability on softer terrain, the AC-2310 features metal spikes that retract and emerge by twisting the foot's rubber portion.
For extreme low-angle shooting, the center column is easily reversible. The retractable metal counterweight hook serves as a stopper at the bottom of the AC-2310's center column.

The first time I bought a tripod, I picked up a Sunpak not bad for the price but as I have gotten more into photography and even teaching I wanted a more stable platform. The AC-2310 is great thus far, very stable, well constructed, it stands high and with the ball head is a pleasure to use. The carrying bag is great as well although I would like it slightly longer to add the ball head to it.
It is a little heavy but this is due to the solid construction and does not take away from it at all.
I have had it a short time and all ready used it with great success in landscape, portrait, night shots, long exposure, and even some light writing. It has passed all my expectations thus far.
I would recommend anyone buying this to add the ball head to it. It makes a much more flexible system for your photos.
I can see this lasting me for years to come. I would recommend this to anyone it is worth the money spent on it.

This is a good tripod for my HDSLR Canon 60D. It is light enough to carry with camera attached from place to place. I also like the hook on the extension, I can hang a sand bag for additional stability or attach my Zoom H2 for recording audio.

Maybe not the best tripod, but a really big good deal. A little heavy for hiking, but should work well for my needs.
Do wish it came with a shoulder strap. The other problem is that the supplied ballhead does not fit into the carrying case without a certain amount of excess manipulation.

Reasonably light and very sturdy. 3 section is nice, faster to deploy than 4 section yet it still collapses to a good size. Rubber feet that retract to reveal metal spikes for outdoor use are a plus. Also comes with a very nice travel carry case that just fits with the BA-1 head attached.
