The Oben AC-1300 3-Section Aluminum Tripod w/ BA-00 Ball Head provides a sturdy base of support for any DSLR, point-and-shoot camera, or a compact camcorder. The head/tripod combination weighs less than 3 lb and bears more than 6 lb, to support DSLR cameras even as they're equipped with long zoom lenses.
The AC-1300's three-section aluminum legs are composed of high-tensile-strength, extremely lightweight extruded aluminum. With the center column fully extend this tripod reaches a maximum height of 57". When folded, the entire system contracts to a compact 23". Two flip locks on each leg enable extremely fast deployment and retraction of leg stages. Three leg angles are possible, and pull-out/press-in locks secure the legs in their notches. The legs' angles are independently adjustable to accommodate shooting on uneven terrain. At the widest leg angle, the tripod sits extremely close to the ground to facilitate low-angle shooting.
The AC-1300's rapid center column extends with a twist of the butterfly knob. For protection when it's retracted quickly, there's a rubber damper that protects the center-post collar. Locking screws underneath the collar enable you to fasten the head securely to the center-post collar. By twisting the spring-loaded hook at the bottom end, the center column becomes removable and reversible, for a second method of achieving extremely low-angle shots. The center column's hook holds a counterweight, in case you need additional system stability in windy conditions.
The included quick-release plate attaches to your camera via its standard 1/4"-20 screw. A retractable, removable video pin provides additional stability for camcorders. The quick-release plate easily snaps and locks into place on the BA-00 head. The safety lock on the quick-release mechanism prevents the camera from loosening inadvertently.
The BA-00 head's single-action knob allows you to unlock all axes of movement in one fell swoop, so you can quickly orient your camera properly, retighten the knob, and return to shooting. The ball-locking mechanism is remarkably strong for reliably stable performance. A friction-lock coating on the tripod collar's base plate extends this rock-like solidity to the head's connection point with the tripod itself.
The head's four bubble levels (one is a spirit level) will tell you whether or not your framing hews to the horizon, in both portrait and landscape orientation of the head. (There's a second spirit level on the tripod chassis.)
The head pans a full 360°, and degree markers around its base help you properly orient your shooting. The BA-00 features a 90° groove for tilting the camera to portrait orientation.

Was looking for a lightweight carbon fiber tripod with built in ball head and bubble levels. The weight of this aluminum tripod is comparable to carbon for a fraction of the cost of carbon. The ball head and 4 bubble levels are great for my panoramic outdoor photography needs. Super nice carrying case with hex wrench tools. Appears to be very well made, durable, and sturdy. Exactly what I was looking for at a very nice price.

Comments about Oben AC-1300 3-Section Aluminum Tripod w/ BA-00 Ball Head:
I recently purchased a Canon T2I and am new to photography. A friend recommended that I get a Tripod, so I chose this one based on reviews from the users here.
The tripod is sturdy, seems very high quality, and it looks cool. My friend (who's more qualified with photography) was very impressed with the quality of this tripod, especially for the cost.
I think it is a good product.

This is small enough to go in my backpack and big enough to do all that I need it to! You can shoot in landscape or portrait mode and upside down for macro. Very versatile for a realativly small price (you could pay a LOT more, but why would you???).

Comments about Oben AC-1300 3-Section Aluminum Tripod w/ BA-00 Ball Head:
Compact, light, seems durable. Very sturdy when it's collapsed. I haven't used it in the wind while fully extended but I don't think I would trust it 100% this is a great starter tripod for someone on a budget.

Very good equipment. Highlight for easy adjustment of the latch of Ballhead. Stable to hold a 70-300 zoom smoothly.
It is not very light, but well worth the cost benefit.

Comments about Oben AC-1300 3-Section Aluminum Tripod w/ BA-00 Ball Head:
This was an upgrade from a $14.95 big box tripod, so I suppose anything would have been an improvement! (However I did order one that I returned prior to ordering this one because it seemed so cheaply made.) This tripod seems steady and just has a "good feel" to it. I love the ball head much better than the pan and tilt. When you tighten it down it stays put and doesn't let the camera "drift". I think I'll be using this one for a long time.

This tripod is a sweet piece of kit. Smooth-action head, very well build, compact and easy to carry, and best of all it comes with levels!
If you even shoot one landscape shot, you'll learn to appreciate the presence of levels built into your Tripod head.
This was bought as a gift to my brother, and it was one of those gifts that took a lot of strength not to give to myself.

This is exactly what I needed, a ball head tri pod that's inexpensive and light! It works perfect for what I need. I can't imagine how the tripods that cost $200 more are much better.

Comments about Oben AC-1300 3-Section Aluminum Tripod w/ BA-00 Ball Head:
I'm using this with my Canon T3i & XT, both small and light weight DSLR cameras. Both work great with this tripod. It easily handled my XT with battery grip + 18-270mm lens without any issues. I was shopping for a compact and light weight tripod with a ball head that I can carry on my camera backpack and this one fits the bill. I would add the AC-1300 is good value for its cost $$, that is why I'm giving it 5 out of 5 stars

I replaced an antique tripod (about 25 years old) as it went missing ... I was amazed about the capabilities of this tripod ... I enjoy the ease of hight adjustments. I still have some trouble balancing the horizon at times.
