The Oben AC-1310 3-Section Aluminum Tripod with BA-0 Ball Head provides a sturdy base of support for any DSLR or point-and-shoot camera, or a compact camcorder. The head/tripod combination weighs only 3.4 lb and can bear 11 lb, to support DSLR cameras even as they're equipped with long zoom lenses and multiple accessories.
The AC-1310's three-section aluminum legs are composed of high-tensile-strength, extremely lightweight extruded aluminum. The legs and center column extend to a maximum height of 61.3". When folded, the entire system contracts to a compact 24.7". Two flip locks on each leg enable extremely fast deployment and retraction of leg stages. Three leg angles are possible, and pull-out/press-in locks secure the legs in their notches. The legs' angles are independently adjustable to accommodate shooting on uneven terrain. At the widest leg angle, the tripod sits extremely close to the ground to facilitate low-angle shooting.
The AC-1310's rapid center column extends with a twist of the butterfly knob. For protection when it's retracted quickly, there's a rubber damper that protects the center-post collar. Locking screws underneath the collar enable you to fasten the head securely to the center-post collar. By twisting the spring-loaded hook at the bottom end, the center column becomes removable and reversible, for a second method of achieving extremely low-angle shots. The center column's hook holds a counterweight, in case you need additional system stability in windy conditions.
The included quick-release plate attaches to your camera via its standard 1/4"-20 screw. A retractable, removable video pin provides additional stability for camcorders. The quick-release plate easily snaps and locks into place on the BA-0 head. The safety lock on the quick-release mechanism prevents the camera from loosening inadvertently.
The BA-0 head's single-action knob allows you to unlock all axes of movement in one fell swoop, so you can quickly orient your camera properly, retighten the knob, and return to shooting. The ball-locking mechanism is remarkably strong for reliably stable performance. A friction-lock coating on the tripod collar's base plate extends this rock-like solidity to the head's connection point with the tripod itself.
The head's four bubble levels (one is a spirit level) will tell you whether or not your framing hews to the horizon, in both portrait and landscape orientation of the head. (There's a second spirit level on the tripod chassis.)
The head pans a full 360°, and degree markers around its base help you properly orient your shooting. The BA-0 features a 90° groove for tilting the camera to portrait orientation.

Comments about Oben AC-1310 3-Section Aluminum Tripod with BA-0 Ball Head:
I had looked at several different tripods and ended up choosing this Oben because of the price. I'm on a very tight budget and so far this seems to be well worth it. Only time will tell though how well this budget tripod will hold up. I bought it to use for shooting sports teams and will probably end up doing some landscape work with it as well. I currently shoot with a Canon 5d and a 24-70L and can honestly say that I don't know how much more I would put on this head. Throwing a 70-200 would probably be testing it's strength in terms of the ball head drifting. The nice thing is though, that the ball head is replaceable. So if you're happy with the tripod itself you can always upgrade the head. Not a bad deal. For the price, everything seems very well made and sturdy enough for me. It is a step up from a very beginner cheap tripod, but a long way from a Gitzo or Manfrotto. Like I said, I will see in a year or two if the ball head wears out or if the leg locks break. For now though, I am very happy with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone looking for a good budget minded tripod.

Comments about Oben AC-1310 3-Section Aluminum Tripod with BA-0 Ball Head:
This tripod fits the bill for me. It is as advertised, lightweight, easy to setup and adjust. I'm new to photography, and this is my second tripod, I had to return the first one. I'm older, and have trouble with arthritis in my hands. I had no problems with this tripod, however, it also seems very sturdy. I'm hoping to have many years of usefullness from it.

Comments about Oben AC-1310 3-Section Aluminum Tripod with BA-0 Ball Head:
I needed something that was light and easy to carry when walking around. This tripod seemed to fit the bill as it will hold 11 pounds of gear, will close down to about 24 inches has a great base plate that snaps into a security lock and has only one adjustment screw for head alingment. The carrying case is a nice bonus and is well made. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a great tripod at a very reasonable price.

Planned to use this tripod for panoramic and protrait photos. The tripod and ball are well made but a little to light for my use. Be aware the head does not have a seperate tightener for panning.

Comments about Oben AC-1310 3-Section Aluminum Tripod with BA-0 Ball Head:
I'm an amateur photographer using a Canon DSLR and a JVC Everio HD Camcorder. My first need was for the camcorder because I couldn't record without a lot of shakiness or jerky movements. Friends recommended a tripod and after a lot of research I settled on B&H. What an amazing company and they truly offer great help. After questioning my use and budget we settled on the Oben AC-1310 because it would accomodate both cameras. When it arrived I couldn't believe how easy it was to use, set up and carry. Quality without breaking the bank. One note I opted for the ball head; however, if you use a tripod more for video I would recommend a pan and tilt head. Don't get me wrong I can move the video camcorder in an easy fluid motion and take great video; but the ball head is more aptly suited for the camera.

Comments about Oben AC-1310 3-Section Aluminum Tripod with BA-0 Ball Head:
I am a photo student.
It is light and comes with a travel bag, which I find great for the city. Compact.
The head is very small and only really should be used for a 35mm or digital camera--not really good for a medium format or large format.
The quick release isnt that easy to take off on and off. Finiky

Tripod makes it really easy set and re-adjust all the axes of the head with one knob adjustment. Reasonably lightweight and sturdy. Matches up to a lot of the Promaster tripods the local camera shop carries at 2-3x the price.

Comments about Oben AC-1310 3-Section Aluminum Tripod with BA-0 Ball Head:
I bought three of these to take on a photo trip to Sonoma for my students to use. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and strength of this little tripod. It is relatively light and compact and comes with a durable bag, which I didn't even know I was getting. Granted, this is not a heavy duty, $300 workhorse tripod, but for light 35mm work, it is great. Also, for students who are just getting used to using a tripod, it is easy enough to use without being cumbersome.

Comments about Oben AC-1310 3-Section Aluminum Tripod with BA-0 Ball Head:
I'm not talented at having a steady hand so I frequently use the tripod for most photographic captures.
The Nikon Coolpix P500 is used with it and plenty-light to safely use on this apparatus. I very much like the 5-point level/plumb features included on the equipment, and its convenient carrying features.
Since I had purchased the tripod with an Oben BA-0 ball head, I'm not quite as able to depend on panoramic shots I can easily put together, however, that was my choice so I'm not at all displeased with this tripod, considering my specific reliance upon it.

I use this tripod for field photography with my D7000 and 300mm nikkor. This tripod is much better than Tiffen, that I purchased before. Recommend if you are looking for something around 100$. I don'd see any cons at this time.
