This is a great light. It was a lot bigger than I thought it would be and looked kind of silly sitting on my Sony Handycam, but it does the trick. I use it for dark wedding reception dance floors and it does the trick. I also like the fact that it comes with a clear and amber filter. The filter does rattle around a bit though, so if you move a lot the mic on you camera may pick it up depending on their proximity. My only other complaint is that the power switch on top is easily bumped to the "ON" position while it's in your camera bag. This happend to me twice in three days. It would be great if it was a flush-mounted switch. That's not a deal breaker though.

The light emitted from this is pretty good, especially for 4 AA batteries. The construction is pretty junky. I took it out of the box, not reading the front of the box, I slid the frosted filter out of the front of the light without pressing the little release button and broke the little plastic piece that holds the filters in place right off. I didn't even force it, it broke very easily, hence the junky construction. I had to take the whole thing apart to get the little plastic piece out that was rattling around inside. Overall it's OK, like I said the level of light is not too shabby, the build is junky. This is an overpriced light. (period)

This is a bright, lightweight, long lasting light source. It's not a flood light, but it works great in close to medium shots.

I bought this light for use with my Cannon ZR930. I use it with a video bracket primarily to shoot family videos. It works fairly well considering the price. Unit was discontinued the day after I bought it from B&H and was replaced with a 70W at the same price. I was a little disappointed however not enough to return it. The color correction insert only adds a little warmth.

I use this lite for run and gun video. I am fairly new to video being a photog for 11 years. I always want to get the best equipment possible because I don't want to have to upgrade a year or two after I buy a product. I had been looking at the Micro pro LED system but after reading the reviews the Micro pro didn't project enough for my needs. A friend of mine shoots for NFL films and suggested this Bescor light at a 1/4 of the price of Micro pro. It also puts out more light than the Micro pro. Only drawback is that the base apparatus is somewhat cheap. But gee, I can't expect the world for [$]...

Comments about Bescor LED-50DA Dimmable 50W LED Video & DSLR Light:
Really easy to use, uses AA batteries, which is really convenient. Very light weight and sturdy, the filters are decent, but definitely not pro-standard, good for budding videographers and Indie film makers who need just a touch of ambient light. Major concern with the light is when it's left in a camera it is prone to being turned on as your moving, so be careful if you store it in a bag.

Comments about Bescor LED-50DA Dimmable 50W LED Video & DSLR Light:
When I used the LED-50DA Dimmable 50W LED Video & DSLR Light by Bescor, the highest/most powerful setting wasn't very bright. The price is average for what you get, but I would suggest getting something more powerful for video, or still photography. Other mini HD lights with a power pack might be better. The dimmer, diffusion, and warming gels are great features.

I bought that light to use with my Canon HV30 camcorder in order to imrove my restaurant video. Works great after re-ajustment of white balance. I shot 1 hour tape on 100% power level without changing the batteries ( I used rechargeable ones). It lights up to 3 meters. The only moments when I use dimmer were the close shots. I have plans to use it with my Nikon D7000 when shoot video, too.

I purchased this to have in the bag of tricks.
I've used it several times now for a small fill or rim. I use it along with the LED 1x1 kit from Litepanels.

This Led Panel does an excellent job putting light in the dark, the range is good, and the power consumption is great.
The addition of a CTO panel for shooting in "yellowish" lights its a thing to thank for.
Use with care on small camcorders, on medium size or ENG cams, you will be just fine with it.

Keep the extra $200 in your pocket. This thing is light, batteries last a long time and the center LED's have more throw for interview/ subject illumination. Dimmer works fine.

The light is very bright (even when dimmed). I couldn't use it because I was blinding people. I will say that if you are not using on human beings it's worth the price.

Comments about Bescor LED-50DA Dimmable 50W LED Video & DSLR Light:
When I first received this item, the on/ and off switch was loose and broken immediately, but after I got it replaced it was definitely worth the money. I use this light for filming skateboarding, and in comparison to other lights, especially halogen (Sony 10/20 watt, Bescor 50/100 watt) it is an extremely effective light. It is lightweight, easy to use, has good throw and decent width for fisheye filming, and has no need for a giant shoulder battery, or use of camera batteries. I'm glad this runs off AA batteries because they last for a while, and you can get AA's virtually anywhere you are. Some of the cons are that it is made out of somewhat cheap plastic

I use this light for shooting video on my JVC GYHM-100U. Add a little bit of weight to the unit when handheld but it's ok. This light definitely does the job and is ok for the price.
However for a little extra I would have liked it to have a stronger attach point to the camera as it currently uses plastic.
Other than that I will recommend it.
