The RX Emergency from Cable Techniques is a compact modular interface that allows you to input an additional wireless signal into the Mix Bus of a Sound Devices mixer. It has standard TA3M 3-pin connectors for modular line-level I/O. All of the unit's connections are on the bottom for seamless bag integration. A potentiometer lets you adjust your wireless level, while a 3-way switch lets you assign the audio to left, right, or both in the stereo mix bus. Comments about Cable Techniques RX Emergency Mix Bus Interface for Sound Devices Mixers:
My mixer of choice is the Sound Devices 302. This mixer has 3 input channels and also has an extra 4th and 5th channel from a TA3 connection. This allows you to daisy chain your mixer to another 302 mixer(adds 3 more channels for $1295) or the mixpre(adds two channels for $665) OR spend $179 to add a single channel for an extra wireless.
This product was designed to be used in a pinch. You like you mixer bag light, and already one boom and 2 wireless being used. For what ever reason you now need another wireless, and you look down and all channels are being used. you dont have your mix pre or any other mixers with you. Well with this very small RXemergeny you now can pull this out of your bag and set it up in less than a few mins. This box is super small and has limited functions, but it gets the job done. For only costing 179 you cant expect more. It lets you choose Left Center Right, and one nice potentiometer(pot fader).
I think this is a great buy for any production audio person, because most production audio like to have there bases cover and i think this could be a great backup.
