Comments about Iomega 2TB eGo Charcoal Desktop Hard Drive USB 3.0:
Nicely build with full metal enclosure. Quiet and fast.
As with most products, there was probably some financial manager at Iomega who decided that the stand should be made of plastic. This makes an extreme negative impression and I hope that the decision maker would get one or two sleepless nights because of opinions like this. I threw out the low quality (the original word was censored here) stand and use the otherwise great product in a horizontal position.

Great product, I have setup at my desk waiting for IT to get the server situation figured out.

Comments about Iomega 2TB eGo Charcoal Desktop Hard Drive USB 3.0:
This is a big and fast drive.
I use it as backup for all my docs and photo work.
I have read that USB 3.0 is fast enough that the IO speed of the external hard drive itself is now a factor. This is different from USB 2, where the USB interface speed was the bottleneck.
Reading and writing to this drive seems like reading and writing to an internal drive.
Installation is truely plug and play, unlike some other 2TB externals.
I give it three stars because I got two defective drives in a row. This could have been just bad luck.
Bottom line: If you get a good one, it works beautifully.
