Comments about Iomega 2TB Professional Desktop External Hard Drive:
drive used with fios motorola dvr 7216; works very well with the dvr even with two concurrent recordings, to the drive, while watching another from the drive--the ultimate test of esata in this setting. with all that concurrent activity, I notice some lag with 10sec button, but not a show stopper by any means. great drive that works very well with the motorola 7216 and fios 1.9!
is quiet and surprisingly cool given the environment is not ideal, at this time. I check often because the drive is busy a lot and I have had it less than a month. feels good/solid.
looks good and is a nice size.
there is a larger/brighter than usual drive activity light. by the tv, not ideal light, but that is easily handled. otherwise, a no doubt activity indicator I wish my other drives had.
so far, the best drive I have used, and I have used many.
NOTE: I did not purchase the drive for the software--did not download, so no input therein.

Comments about Iomega 2TB Professional Desktop External Hard Drive:
I bought the first to backup a desk top computer before restoring to factory settings. Im now buying one for my lap top.
The factory software can be set to back up all files changed in the last hour, day week or what ever you choose and keep up to the last 10 revisions. The software is not in the box as the package says but with a little work can be found on the home site after your registration.

Comments about Iomega 2TB Professional Desktop External Hard Drive:
This is a SUPER drive. I use it for system and data backups, as well as srorage for files I want to keep, but that I don't want clogging up my internal hard drive. I have used the 1TB version of this drive for a couple of years and have been extremely satisfied, so I bought the 2TB version, and am just as happy. I hook them up eSata and the transfer speed is great - haven't tried hooking them up USB - no need to as long as I can use eSata.

Comments about Iomega 2TB Professional Desktop External Hard Drive:
Simple, fast, and efficient. Excellent sized hard drive for the price. Though it's intended for desktop use mostly, it's still small enough to pack in a computer bag.
And works with mac after partitioning.
Cables could be a little longer.

Comments about Iomega 2TB Professional Desktop External Hard Drive:
I use the product to back up my music, photos and videos and find the external drives work well. Apart from reformatted the drive for a Mac initially (after reading the instruction booklet) the 3 drives Iomega drives have performed well.

Comments about Iomega 2TB Professional Desktop External Hard Drive:
I have several Iomega drives of this type, which I used for on-location audio and video recording. I particularly like the small footprint and hard aluminum case. It has a dual interface - eSATA and USB2 - but eSATA is ideal for high resolution audio recording and editing. It is twice as fast as FW400, with trouble-free hot-swapping. There is no fan and these drives run on the hot side for continuous use. I have fan-cooled drive stacks for that purpose, and I can transfer data from the Iomega to those drives at up to 120 MB/s.

Comments about Iomega 2TB Professional Desktop External Hard Drive:
Drive was a piece of cake to setup. Plenty of room for video collection/music collection + regular backup. It is pretty fast when connected via eSATA. I have no complaints, very solid construction. I've always had great luck with Iomega products. So far it's an A+ product
