The PJD5122 2700 Lumens Projector from Viewsonic is a high-performance LCD projector designed to support up to 120Hz frame rate through the 3D DLP Link. The DLP imaging chip is so fast, it is able to project two images on the screen at one time to create the 3D image viewed through the active glasses. But, in addition to the two images on the screen, the DLP chip also sends additional data to the glasses in-between each frame of video. This is how the projector communicates with the DLP link enabled active glasses.
It accommodates installations from permanent ceiling-mounted to simple desk-mounted use. Weighing in at 5 lbs (2.3kg), the projector is a great travel mate and ideal for the mobile user. With 2700 ANSI lumens of brightness, whether in the classroom or the boardroom, the projector delivers crisp HD performance using technology such as BrilliantColor Technology, delivers stunning all-digital clarity with life-like color, sharp graphics and outstanding video. The sophisticated 5-segment color (RGBWY) wheel provides greater color accuracy than standard DLP projectors with a 4-segment color wheel. The digital keystone adjustment feature takes the guess work out of adjusting your image, and the full connectivity makes it easy to use multimedia equipment to fit your presentation needs. It improves perceived sharpness, brightness and contrast, and projects lifelike images with remarkable depth.
The native 4:3 aspect ratio delivers data slides in a clear resolution and you can easily switch the input to a 16:9 format for popular formats. Besides its many performance attributes, the PJD5122 Projector is bottom-line-friendly.

I originally wanted an HD projector - but then I realized that I don't have (nor will for a while) any HD content. I'm not ready to give up my clearplayer and I doubt I'll ever buy another game system after my PS2.With that in mind, the comparable HD projectors were $900 while this is only [$]. I figure in another year or two when I finally get blueray - then I will be able to get an HD projector for about $500. Then I'll have two projectors for the same price.Anyway, I have very sensitive eyes and spend all day on my 24" 1080p Asus LCD. However, I am very pleased with this projector - it is plenty bright and very quite even with it next to our heads. I am very happy with my choice. The VGA input is much better quality than the composite input on my setup because I use some routing boxes and such.

I bought this projector because it was one of the few 3D ready ones in my budget. I got what I paid for. As I removed it from the box I heard something rolling around inside. I then proceeded to use it for a single session, turned it off, and it never turned back on. Luckily BH Photo Video is replacing it. Hopefully my next one will have better luck.

I am an instructor conducting technical training for major high-tech corporations and individual engineers. I bought the projector for powerpoint presentation. I need the presentation (mostly text and a few pictures, charts, etc.) to be bright and sharp. This projector is just right for this purpose. It's very cost effective. I like it a lot.

Used the projector to screen a movie on to a 12 ft screen and the picture quality was very good (at this price range especially). You will have to use speakers for decent sound. We just used a karaoke machine. Projector is user friendly. Reliable so far, but we have only used it 5 times. After researching projectors in this price range, I found that very few specified that they would be able to fill a 12 ft screen.

Comments about Viewsonic PJD5122 2700 Lumens Projector:
For the purpose of projection with other nearly direct white lighting, the brilliance of this projector is great. I, and other viewers, are very impressed for the the bang for the buck! The two VGA ins and one VGA out is quite useful in my setting. The capability is great and I got exactly what I paid for; however, will make the upgraded purchase next time for a DVI in and higher native resolution.

I MOUNTED THIS PROJECTOR ON THE WALL ABOVE THE MAIN SOFA IN THE LIVING ROOM. SINCE IT IS SO LIGHT (5 LBS) IT DOES NOT REQUIRE A SUBSTANCIAL STAND. IT HAS NO AUDIBLE FAN NOISE, EVEN DURING QUIET PARTS OF A MOVIE. THE PICTURE IS NICE FOR A DVD. I DON'T HAVE DIGITAL CABLE, SO WEN WATCHING TV, THE PICTURE IS NOT SO CLEAR.
A HDMI ON THE BACK WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE.
I STILL FEEL LIKE I MADE A GOOD BUY.

For the money this is a great value and great clarity for presentations. The only thing I would change is the lens cover, which is detachable to possibly an internal sliding cover. Overall I would purchase this item again and would recommend.

I belong to two non-profit organizations who do not have great resources, but who needed the ability to share information at meetings. After researching several products, I chose to buy this projector for one of the organizations. I was so impressed that I took the projector to a meeting of the other organization to show them how well it performed. Needless to say, they purchased one for their organization. :<)

Projector excellent, but VERY FRUSTRATED that on 1st usage, the connection cord did not work. [...] diagnosed the cord as the problem...another was bought at an electornics store & then all was perfect. Now we'll see if we'll get an adjustment in price because of the cord.Protector used in room for 80 people; projected well and clarity was good in slightly reduced room lighting. Used for 6 hours. Well worth the price.

We attended our reunion where people brought all manner of media to share their photos. With very little time & effort, we were able to plug everything together & start projecting. Everyone was impressed with how sharp @ bright their pictures looked. We certainly got our money's worth. We're off to a medical conference with full confidence in this projector to do the job.

Bright, sharp image, easy to use, light weight. I do suspect the light weight means it is not as sturdy as heavier ones, but it makes it easy to move around. Super value for the price. I bought it to use in my classes and to bring home for weekend movies.
