The E2100L Advanced Wireless-N Router from Cisco is a sophisticated and yet easy-to-use router that provides Internet access to your wireless-N devices. With this wireless technology, you can transfer data between your computer, wireless printer, or other WiFi devices at a rate of up to 300 Mbps. In addition, the router can also connect to wireless devices that are only compatible with 802.11b or 802.11g standards. Aside from wireless connections, the router has one Ethernet WAN port for connecting to your modem and four 10/100 Ethernet LAN ports for establishing wired connections.
Because the router has a built-in UPnP AV Media Server, you can wirelessly stream media content to compatible devices, such as an Xbox 360 or PS3. Plus, with the router's built-in USB port, you can connect a USB storage device and share files to other WiFi computers or your UPnP AV media devices on your network. You can also remotely access this storage from a computer outside of the network.
This router is easy to setup with the included software CD and also includes a variety of security features, such as WPA/WPA2, WEB, RADIUS, and an SPI Firewall. While it is compatible with Mac and Windows operating systems, you can also customize its functions with Linux.

Comments about Linksys E2100L Advanced Wireless-N Router:
[...] The setup disc detected that my computer was not "windows vista" or Windows XP, and would not install to do the assisted setup. My laptop runs Windows Vista Ultimate, and that must have not been supported. No worry, I just got on the Linksys/Cisco web site and downloaded the user manual. Setup is the same as you are used to if you have ever had a linksys in the past, using an html screen format on the 192.168.1.1 default addy. I was not able to import the settings from my older 802.11 b router, nor was there an easy way to move the MAC Address filter list to the new router. I wish Linksys would make accommodation for this. The router powered up and was working very quickly. My work laptop has a wireless n card and I connect at 130mbps. The web is not any faster, but when the pages do hit my local network, it is faster. I also really like that I could hook up my large backup drive to the usb port and configure sharing of the data on that drive. Now I have a file server that is very fast. I also set up the media streaming server that is part of the linksys router, and now my wireless enabled television can get to the files on my backup drive - so movies etc can be had quickly and without effort. The power cord for the "wall wart" is much shorter than the older router, so I had to move stuff around in my office to accommodate the shorter cord - Linksys - make that cord longer! I have the router running at full power and I get excellent coverage anywhere on my property (about 1/2 acre, with the router on the second floor of my home and positioned as high as the short cord will allow. [...] I am very happy with my new router. best regards - Andy Moon

Comments about Linksys E2100L Advanced Wireless-N Router:
The setup was extremely easy. I usually manually set these things up because the setup wizards are usually more complicated. Not the case with this one. I was quite impressed. It's replacing a D-Link 615 N router and it runs circles around it. There is no comparison. I haven't used it's USB external hard drive features yet, but I can't wait to try.

Comments about Linksys E2100L Advanced Wireless-N Router:
Does not work very well with Xbox 360 slim. Xbox constantly drops connection requiring the router (not the Xbox) to be rebooted for re-connectivity. Order a second router only to discover the same issue. Wireless range is not what I had expected. I got same signal strength with the WRT54G that I've been using for years. Router's wireless connectivity is unreliable but otherwise it's a feature packed router that offers a built-in media server, guest wireless and etc. Overall, not a bad buy for the money.

This router is easy to set up and its range is amazing. I recently "upgraded" to this router and I love it. It is twice as fast as my old router and its range capabilities is unbeatable.

Comments about Linksys E2100L Advanced Wireless-N Router:
Cisco has made a wonderful product that works out of the box. Very intuitive and straightforward.
The windows software automatically configures the router, sets up the privacy settings/root passwords and you are good to go. Enterprise quality networking at cheap prices. I use it for my Home office and after upgrading from 54GL, my speed has doubled (capped only at my ISP capacity).
