Metric Halo ULN-2 Expanded FireWire Audio Interface with Jensen Transformers

The ULN-2 Expanded from Metric Halo is a portable FireWire-based multi-format audio converter, interface, and processor design for professional applications. The unit offers 2 balanced analog inputs on Neutrik XLR/TRS combo connectors, each of which has a pro-quality Jensen transformer. The unit has AES/EBU and S/PDIF digital I/O connectors, plus 8 channels of ADAT optical I/O with switchable TOSLINK support. It also has 2 balanced 1/4" analog outputs and 2 balanced 1/4" monitor outputs for connecting to power amps and self-powered monitors. BNC word clock I/O connectors let you keep perfect sync with your other professional audio devices, while a pair of FireWire 400 connectors support connection to a computer at up to 400Mbps.

The unit has extremely low-noise preamps with a lot of gain an an ultra-fast slew rate. 24-bit/96kHz converters are provided on all channels to provide high-quality clean audio. Each of the analog inputs has balanced 1/4" analog sends and returns, letting you use the unit as a stand-alone pre/direct box, as an active splitter, or as an an analog patch. An integrated headphone amp with a dedicated volume control provides convenient private monitoring.

The ULN-2 Expanded has a v.5 configurable mixer that provides mixing and routing with near-zero latency. It also has flexible powering options, thanks to the 4-pin XLR power input, which provides compatibility with a variety of broadcast battery systems. It is also bus-powerable via FireWire for terrific flexibility and mobility. Metric Halo's unique +DSP processing is built-in to provide you with world-class effects without sacrificing your computer's processing power or introducing any additional latency into your monitor path. It also has a preset system and routing memory for stand-alone operation.
