This standard, black FireWire 9-Pin to 4-Pin Cable from Pearstone provides a link between newer devices that feature the 9-pin FireWire 800 connection and older 4-pin FireWire devices. Top transfer speed is limited by the 4-pin FireWire 400Mb/s rate.

These cables are very durable and sturdy. The only thing I don't like is connectors themselves are black plastic. I prefer metal because in low light situations, you can't see which side is up or down, and with FireWire, you need to know. All in all, good rugged cable that will last

I use the cord to connect my older cameras to my new MAC. The new MAC doesn't have the old usb ports. Did have to change the settings to get it to work but am happy with the end product.

I would give it 5 stars if I knew it worked! I have a Dell XPS M1330 and its not uncommon for the firewire port to malfunction. This is a quality cable and probably works. I look forward to confirming that!
