Excellent for strobists
This is compact and easy to use. I have all the Honl strobist gear and this is the best yet. It folds flat and is very well made.

I bought this to use as a small softbox for travel situations with an off-camera Nikon SB-800, where I don't have fullsize studio lighting and softbox with me. Sometimes I have this on a lightstand-mounted speedlight, sometimes on one mounted to a Stroboframe. The light quality is nice, especially for the rather small diameter of the box.
The only negative is that the velcro/hook-and-loop attachment points on the side are rather small, causing the box to 'droop' frequently and require fairly constant adjustment. Seems like there needs to be velcro across the top, too, in addition to the attachment points on the sides.
But as long as you remember to check once in a while to make sure the Traveller is aimed at your subject and not somewhere low, it works nicely.

One of the best softboxes I've used.
Provides a Comfortable soft light.
Takes up some room in the bag, but it's ok when it does its job

Comments about Honl Photo Traveller8 Softbox:
I like this a lot. Because you can fold it flat, it is portable, but it is definitely not a walking-around tool/softbox/diffuser. Of course, that's not why I bought it, but I would just point it out if the picture did not highlight that. It does create a great circular catch light in the eyes for portraits. Like all of Honl's products, this seems really well made, and unlike his products, this one actually comes with a Speedstrap (needed to attach all of his other products to your flash). The included strap, partially justifies the high cost, but not quite. If this was cheaper, it would definitely be 5 stars for use and construction.

Comments about Honl Photo Traveller8 Softbox:
This product is easy to set up, easy to store and the results are fantastic. I use several modifiers for speedlights and this one overall is the best. It would be a little awkward to use this on camera, but for off camera use it is perfect. I really love the quality of light produced and the catch light in the subject's eyes.

I love the portability of the Traveller8. To me doing on location photography, portability is critical and this product lends itself very well to this sort of task. It seems to perform very well so far.

Very effective and convenient solution for softening light from a flash. I was surprised how well built it is. I was afraid it would be too floppy, but that is not the case. The Honl system is great! I like this softbox and the gels.

Comments about Honl Photo Traveller8 Softbox:
Used for one light portrait use in and outdoors. Also used for backlight and rim lighting in portrait sessions. Pretty sweet little "softbox." Many minor adjustments can be made with your flash head while inside the box (gels, dome diffuser, zooming etc.). Good build quality. A little annoying to get on the flash head at first, but the wide velcro strap it comes with can be used to attach other Honl (as well as other brand) accessories with velcro attachments.

Comments about Honl Photo Traveller8 Softbox:
I bought it for a wedding and it truly saved me. It allowed me to shoot with a flash in places where there was no surface to bounce the flash off and I didn't get a single red eye. I used it on a Sunpack 544 mounted on a bracket. Mounting it on this particular flash wasn't as easy as one would hope, but in the end it worked OK and the thing slipped off only once.

Comments about Honl Photo Traveller8 Softbox:
I bought a pair of these to go over my harsh glaring LED, non dimmable video lights. They cut out a huge amount of lighting, but what is left is modeling light of great quality, and bright enough to lighten up a dark small room. I have used these on strobes with great success, so I thought I would try them on LED movie lights. Everything is going LED these days, but the lighting is harsh and glaring. They are great, and fit into a DSLR backpack very nicely folded up. They take only a few seconds to pop open, velcro on the diffuser to the shell and the shell to the light source.

Comments about Honl Photo Traveller8 Softbox:
it works ok. doesnt soften as much as i would prefer, but still better than a diffuser. somewhat difficult to get it completely round and takes some work. when attached, it tends to want to lean down slightly, even with speed straps. it comes out to the very tip of my 24-70, so with a short lens, say a 50, it actually tends to be in the way. i use it on a remote flash and diffuser on master and get good results. dont get a washed out effect from the flash when using ttl like you do without it. its good for portability, but in a crowded plae, tends to be "in the way" more than not. overall, it does what is expected, just wish it would secure at the base a little better. the ends are at a angle where they attach which doesnt give it the best footprint the the velcro.

This is a very easy lightmodifier to always have. I can hide close to the model in sets for a key and makes a wonderful accent light
