The Cisco Wireless-N Internet Home Monitoring Camera by Linksys lets you keep an eye on your home or business anytime and from anywhere over the Internet or even using your smartphone. Because of its compact form and wireless connectivity you can quickly set up the camera in the area you need it to monitor.
You can set the camera to send an email alert along with a short video clip of the affected scene to three recipients whenever motion is detected by the camera. You can also record motion video and audio to a local PC's hard drive or to a shared network drive.

This camera is easy to set up, has good picture quality, is small enough to place anywhere and is priced fairly. I would give it 5 stars except for one glaring flaw: There is no Mac version of its software. It has a browser-based interface through which you can see the video output, but you cannot hear the audio, and I had bought this specific model because it has a microphone. The fact that you can use some features but not others on a Mac is not well explained, so beware.

The Cisco Wireless-N Internet Home Monitoring Camera by Linksys WVC80N is really awesome. I used DynDNS instead of http://www.tzo.com/ (default one) because it is "FREE". Please don't use CD to configure, directly use your web browser to configure the camera. (Default IP: 192.168.1.1)Configuration(Wireless)is also very easy. But please don't forget to get Dynamic DNS service(www.DynDNS.com) before you start the configuration and also do port forwarding in your router. (port: 8080)There is lot of information in the web, to do the configuration.Even Shipping from B&H was very fast....

For the cost the camera is highly functional and does what it is suppose to do. I think the picture is rather clear and the fact that I can use my media player to record is awesome! I can't believe how well the camera is working out! I would definitely recommend this camera to everyone!

I purchased the first one and put it into operation in my chicken coop. Once confident that it would work reliably I purchased another 3 units and installed them around the chicken coop to supplement the first unit. I am very happy with their performance and ease of use. I would highly recommend this camera. Buying from B&H was a positive experience. No issues with online ordering and receiving notification of order fulfillment [...]

Nice cam, super easy setup, a little bulky and I had an issue with the wireless freezing up but overall lots of options. However, I went back to the Dlink camera since it had a few more features I liked.

This is my 1st IP camera, so I can't compare, and I woudn't know what else to buy. It was chalanging to set up also linksys N-draft router's port forwarding, smtp for sending motion detection, but now I can see my video online 1 month free through dyndns and I receive e-mails, videos or pics.

Comments about Linksys Wireless-N Internet Home Monitoring Camera:
I was able to set up the camera easily following directions provided. I have a Mac and the item had been advertised as "mac-compatible." The provided software runs on Mac - in fact the CD I got didn't seem to have any Windows software - but lacks the CameraUtility application which is needed to finalize the setup. This is available only for Windows as a download after searching; I use it in Parallels. Then there is a trick involving the Airport Utility software. You must find the DHCP table under Logs and Statistics to discover the IP address assigned by the Airport device to the camera. Then you can access the camera. Changing settings is then possible, but the web interface gives no control over the sound from the camera, and despite using the CameraUtility application to (after long searching to find the control) turn on the microphone, I am still not able to hear sound from the camera over the web interface. Phone help was very helpful when I sought it concerning setup; I haven't discussed with them the sound problem but the other posts suggest web-based sound just doesn't work. The motion detection works well after adjusting the sensitivity and emailing a short snippet of detected motion works. In summary, both Mac-compatibility and basic features could stand improvement.

I have 3 cameras in my apartment, and everyday I have to restart one of them, (because it just stop showing video, the camera is working but no picture). I called to Linksys/Cisco, spent many hours on the phone with them, they restored the cameras, they tried every setting possible, but nothing helped. If you google it, lots of people complaining about it, but no action from Linksys/Cisco side. Stay away from that camera if you are planning on using multiple units.

Comments about Linksys Wireless-N Internet Home Monitoring Camera:
Works well...Very functional, easy to set up & use. Be aware that this camera obviously requires a wireless router to be already set up. Also, the DDNS used for remote viewing will require a subscription to an additional(albeit small) monthly fee. It would be nice if the power cable was quite a bit longer...as is it limits placement of the camera without the use of an extension cord. Works best with internet explorer...other browsers not supported well.

Comments about Linksys Wireless-N Internet Home Monitoring Camera:
Follow the instructions, and video streams through your network. Audio... the device doesn't stream audio through all the formats it delivers, so I'm not sure what's going on with that. Not important to me, though, so I haven't looked too deeply.
But, it does what the box says it does: video over IP. There are good websites about to help if the manual seems a bit techie.
The CD will guide you through setting up the camera on your network with your PC. Beyond that, or if the installer doesn't figure everything out on your own, then you are in the land of networking and will have to know about configuring routers, etc. I don't blame the device, just be aware, that's all.
One downside, to using IP video cameras, is that the easiest to configure video is delivered over TCP... this means in short that the further the video lags behind, the more congested your router will become, until it gives up and then no more video. If this happens to you, try watching the camera over rtsp (using UDP) using vlc media player, for instance.
