I'll give it 5 stars! It's easy to use!The plug in is tight and you don't have to worry about it accidentally unplugging on ya. It has many features that will allow you to do many different timing scenarios. The unit has no power off button and it dose not auto shut-off, but it is easy to pull the batteries which, you should do anyway, if you are not going to be using it. Frankly though, I bought it to use and I use it all the time! Beats using the cordless infra red remote which, only works from the front of the camera. Some people say the cord is too short. However, I do not see the cord being too short. I think it is perfect. The control unit is 6 inches long and the cord from the control unit to the plug is 36 inches long. Personally, I am glad it is not longer than it is and if I need it to be longer, I'll just get an extension. If you are looking for a quality shutter release, this is it. If your camera is listed for use with this unit, get it. [...]

I've now had two of these and neither works. The first one was dead on arrival (it lit up but it would never open the shutter on the camera) and I returned it to B&H for a refund. I then ordered a second one, which arrived today, and it is stuck counting up and with the RELEASE icon flashing. This seems like the shutter release button is pressed down but it's not.
S u c k s to have two lemons in a row. I won't be ordering another one. It's stupid that Nikon uses the DC-2 connection on a D7000 instead of their "pro" connector which would allow the use of the Nikon branded release.

Worked fine, easy set up. As noted by others, lack of power on/off switch is a minor annoyance, otherwise works as advertised on my D90

Since Nikon doesn't give us D90 users anything better then the MC-DC2, this is a really good choice. It can fire your camera even without batteries.

I just purchased this remote timer for my Nikon.
It works great. Well worth the money for night photography.

Great product with one minor problem, there is not a off switch. Once you plug in the batteries its on and it stays on. I haven't left it alone long enough to see if it eventually goes off, I just remove one of the batteries. But otherwise its a great device. Does everything you need it too.

I've very pleased with this remote release, especially for time lapse and long-exposure photography. There's nothing quite like setting up the camera on a cold night with this release and letting it do the work (while I'm inside drinking a beer and watching Top Gear re-runs).

Comments about Pearstone ShutterBoss Timed Remote for Nikon with DC-2 Connection:
I haven't used it much yet, but so far it seems to be exactly what I expected. Wanted to have a remote switch that I could use to time multiple shutter releases, that would also function for basic uses. When i say it is bulky...not bad, just not as small as a simple shutter release. Also, I was pleased to find that it only needs batteries for timed releases. It will release the shutter with no batteries at all.

Comments about Pearstone ShutterBoss Timed Remote for Nikon with DC-2 Connection:
This intervalometer gets five stars. Like previous posts, it does not come with an on/off switch. But then again, it doesn't seem to use up too much power from the AAA batteries. However, it would have been perfect with an on/off switch. That is my only drawback.
You also have to keep in mind which way you insert the remote. It inserts into the GPS port, which is fairly rectangular, which means it can fit into the port both ways--but it will only work one way. You will understand if you buy the product, which honestly is a must-have. I've created a few time lapse videos and star trails that have amazed my peers. And it's very simple to use.

Comments about Pearstone ShutterBoss Timed Remote for Nikon with DC-2 Connection:
I am an entry level DSLR hobbyist. I bought this primarily for my Nikon D5000 for time lapse photography. The D500 comes with an interval shooting program inherent in its functionality. For me, this remote simplifies on the fly control. Once I get the camera positioned I don't want to fuss with the camera menus, thus the remote comes in handy.
The remote's build seems solid for the price. If you press hard on the unit you'll hear creeks from the plastic body. The connection into the camera is tight. No possibility for accidental release even under tension - you'd have to give it a hard, fast pull.
The cord length needs to be longer. While it gives you enough room to walk around the camera about 1 foot, this isn't enough slack to feel independent from the camera.

Comments about Pearstone ShutterBoss Timed Remote for Nikon with DC-2 Connection:
This product allows you to set shutter speed and frame intervals and number of frames either individually as I expected, or in various combinations, a capability that I had not expected. I agree that an on/off switch would be a great addition especially since this is a device that isn't used every day (as designed, you must remove the batteries to shut it off fully). Some means of attaching it to a tripod also would be helpful. But an excellent value nonetheless.

This remote has all the functionality of the Nikon brand remote, but is less than half the price. I recently bought a D7000 and this remote works flawlessly with it. If you need a remote for macro work, long exposures or time lapse photography this is the tool for you.

I bought this for my Nikon D90 to do time lapse photography. There are very few options available that I could find, but this one is solid and gets the job done well. Allows unlimited sequence of photos. On a D90 it connects to the GPS connector. Only problem is that there is no on/off switch. Only way I could find to turn it off is to remove the batteries.

Works great right out of the box. I always wanted the intervolameter capability and this remote does that for me. In cold weather I can stick it inside my mittens and fire the shutter.
