I needed another CD card, I wanted a backup and noticed that I was always worried about running out of room. I had read that Lexar made a good stable card so I decided to give It a try, granted pricing had a part in all of this but I wouldn't have purchased a card from a company I had heard little or nothing about unless it was a gift but this one wasn't. The 200X card was good for my camera, manufactures suggested X133 minimum and I did try one and found it to be slow.
I'm happy with the speed, knowing that write speed is slower than read speed, when I do bursts of RAW images I can still get to the maximum my camera can handle without any issues as most cameras today have a buffer that will take care of those issues regardless.
So far I've been very happy with this card and will always consider Lexar as a company to consider when I purchase.

Don't be fooled by 200X speed, thats only for read data. write speed is one-third of that 60X maybe.
When i checked the speed on PC, read speed is about 30mb/sec, write only 10mb/sec. The write speed is more important in SLR photography for quicker repeated shoots. Not happy with this "200X" speed claim.

I needed a bigger capacity card for my 5D that wouldn't break the bank. This card does the job quite well. No complaints, and a great price.

Comments about Lexar 8GB Platinum II 200x CompactFlash (CF) Memory Card (One Card):
My wife and I are wedding photographers and we carry 8 of these (4 each). Using our Canon 5D (12.8 megapixels) and shooting RAW we get about 500 shots per 8GB card. For a typical wedding we can accumulate 4000 shots! Enough to keep any photographer busy in the digital dark room. This card is such a great value. We've never lost any pictures due to a corrupted card. A+++ Quality from Lexar.

Comments about Lexar 8GB Platinum II 200x CompactFlash (CF) Memory Card (One Card):
It is an 8Gb CF card. I haven't filled it up yet, but performance is adequate for the price and the pictures I have taken in raw can be read, so that is good. It could be faster, but you get what you pay for!

I don't use it for anything that requires super high speed, but for my uses it has been more than adequate. Never noticed any issues with speed with my D200, and the capacity is great for this camera.

Not a fastest compact flash out there; but, enough speed for landscape and casual shooters. It comes with a reliability, and I have never got any problem so far.

Comments about Lexar 8GB Platinum II 200x CompactFlash (CF) Memory Card (One Card):
This card, I bought four, is a good comprimise of speed, capacity, quality and price. Lexar cards always meet or exceed the "speed rating" they advertise, unlike other brands. These cards will ride along side a SDHC card in my Canon Mk4's with files being written to both cards.
