When you are shooting a big assignment, traveling in remote locations, your camera or flash batteries are drained and your are without access to electricity, then the ideal solution is the Turbo 3 Rechargeable Battery from Quantum Instruments. This is a high voltage battery that works with most shoe- and handle-mount professional quality flash units and all Quantum Qflash, T-series and Trio/Pilot portable flashes. The Turbo 3 has the capacity to provide 1050 full-power flashes for shoe-mount and 750 flashes for handle-mount flash units.
The Turbo 3 has two outlets so you can simultaneously power a digital camera and a flash or two flashes. Cables are secured to the battery with locking sockets so you don't have to worry about a cable falling out while you are in the middle of shooting. Compatible cables for Nikon, Canon and Qflash Trio are available (sold separately).
This NiMH battery is equipped with four "fuel gauge" LED status indicators which keep you aware of how much power you have left. Recycling times average one second and it takes about three hours to fully charge the unit with the included standard battery charger.
Turbo 3 is Quantum's highest-capacity battery. It weighs only 32 oz (900 g) and can be carried around easily with the included belt clip.
- Unlike other types of batteries, the Turbo 3 uses NiMH batteries that have no "memory." You can "top off" your Turbo 3 at any time, or give it a quick charge to get a few more shots.
- Secure locking flash cables for Nikon, Canon and Qflash TRIO with the locking sockets of the Turbo 3 are sold separately.
- The Turbo 3 is supplied with a belt clip, and has fittings for an optional shoulder strap. It can also be conveniently mounted on a light stand or tripod, using the optional Quantum Battery Clamp (QBC).
- Using the two outlets on the Turbo 3, you can simultaneously power a digital camera and a flash or two flashes.
- A standard charger (100-240 volts) is included with the Turbo 3. Chargers are also available for many other countries, and for your vehicle.
- After long and/or frequent use, the internal battery can be replaced by Quantum Instruments at a nominal cost.
- To check the Turbo 3 capacity when it is not connected, depress the ON button until the "fuel gauge" LED display comes on to read the power level. The gauge will automatically turn off.

I use this with a Quantum Trio and a Nikon SB-900. Recycle is extremely fast with both flashes.
I could do two weddings on a single charge. The led status lights at the top of the battery gives you the status of remaining power.

I was able to shoot over 350 shots and still had 2 bars left. Should last as long as they claim. Would have been nice to know you get a mail-in certificate for a shoulder strap with your purchace. It only took a week and a half to get after sending it in. I ordered one and it wasn't worth sending it back, now I have a spare.

I had a lot of problems with my Canon 580EX II overheating from "frequent use" on weddings, which meant that I missed many great shots for having the flash "cool off" wait time! Grrrrr.. so I decided to invest in the Quantum Trio system and boy I will never ever look at any other flash system again! I did a wedding on last Saturday and then a full day maternity shoot the next day with no recharge of the battery and it held and went down to just half use after all this! I never missed a shot, no over heating, always just the perfect light! I highly recommend this system for field work to any pro photographer!

Great battery. using with Quantum trio flash. long life battery. It is a little pricy but you do get a great product for the money. i spend time over this - weight and price (turbo 3) vs. half the weight and $ 159 cheaper (turbo SC) and it was the number of Flash and recycle time that sold me!

The one and only battery which pulls through big events like weddings and sport, easily supporting >1000 fill flashes and even >600 high speed flashes. I'm using two Canon 580 EX II with it, and I'm very satisfied.
It's a little bulky and heavy, though, but there is no other way to carry around that much power.

A must-have for event photographers. This product will save your hide and reputation if you have to shoot a lot of photos, especially at a steady rate. Don't risk it and ensure you get the best, especially if you are getting paid for a gig. It's worth it.
Having said that, why are car batteries so much cheaper? Size? That's the only reason I can't give a full 5-stars.

I am a wedding photographer and I used the Turbo 3 as soon as I got it at a wedding. I shot for 6 hours and the next day I shot 2 engagement sessions 1 hour each and I still had 2 bars left on the indicator. I could not believe it......really, really great battery. I would recommend it to anybody.

I had a 14 hour wedding day yesterday, shot over 2400 images, and only used one Turbo 3 battery. Unreal how this battery keeps on shooting. I am a big user of Quantum for the past 12 years. I love the new Turbo 3 and Trio. The combo is a workhorse and I will be purchasing another Turbo 3 soon to replace the 8 batteries, that I would have used on a wedding assignment this large.

Really great power source for Trio's T-5DR & My Nikon Flashes (SB-800 & SB-900). It goes on & On. I have SC & Turbo Compact, I want to sell them and get two of T3. Really great product from Quantum.
