The Modex Type 1 from RPG Diffusor Systems is a metal plate absorber designed to absorb low frequency sounds in small rooms that are sonically isolated due to massive boundary construction. In rooms such as this, air particle velocity near walls and corners is close to zero, resulting in low absorption efficiency. The Modex is designed to provide effective, uniform absorption of frequencies from 50-500Hz.
The Modex was developed by the Institute for Building Physics at the Fraunhofer Institute. It features a patented metal damping system, which consists of a metal plate embedded between 2 layers of damping material, which are surrounded by a perforated metal frame. The plate is only 4" thick, offering an incredible performance in a slim design. The plate has an attractive and durable powder-coat finish, and can be mounted on walls or ceilings.
