Works just as it should.
I found an underwater housing (PT-EP01) while traveling and even though I didn't think I needed such a thing - it was too good a deal and exactly fit the E-PL1, VF-2, and 14-42mm I had in my bag. So when I got home I surfed B&H for the needed accessories, this was one of them (along with a UFL-1, fiber optic sync, and PTSA-02 arm). With the gear installed you can do everything with your E-PL1 kit lens that you can do with no housing and that seemed like a good thing. You should check to make certain that the gear doesn't rub against the camera, since it is friction fit, there is some latitude in where exactly it sits on the lens. I guess if I were going diving I would try it out fully before I got wet. I have not gone underwater with the camera and might never do so. I want to take pictures in the rain and snow without worrying about my Pen. If you have a housing, you clearly should get the PPZR-EP01 gear (should you use either the 14-42mm lens or the 9-18mm - which has its own version of the gear - the EP02). I'm going to leave the gear on a spare lens, since pulling it on and of isn't really something I want to do with my lenses on a regular basis - which is a good excuse to buy one of the new quiet 14-42mm lenses.

The gear works,but the outside button on the housing is in an hard place to manipulate to zoom.It is indispensable to be able to zoom in or out with the camera inside the housing.If you are going to buy the housing,you will need this gear.
