I use this to get my flash up off my camera and to keep it on top regardless of whether I'm holding my camera in landscape or portrait orientation. I like how it fits the camera, how it stays out of the way of my hands when attached, and how easy it moves from one position to the other. It is a very sturdy, well built piece. I don't like the way I have to use a tool (I carry a penny) to fasten it and remove it from my camera, but I don't know what other type of fastener would work and still enable you to mount it to a tripod. I don't like that I had to order so many extra parts to make it complete (flash adapter, anti-twist plate, and tripod quick release mount), but I suppose that's because each camera and/or flash you might use it with require different hardware. It's also awkwardly shaped and won't fit in my camera bag - I've got to carry it separately. It may sound like my dislikes outnumber my likes, but they all add up to a small price to pay for the huge benefit I get in using it.

I've using this bracket professionally for over a year now. It is sturdy and very durable. I like the ability to raise the flash height. A little fold-out foot allows you to rest your rig on a flat surface without it tipping over. For me, the handle is in a great location for carrying your rig (on the right), since I'm right-handed.

Caveats: The flip-over bar does so a little too easily. This allows the flash to tip over suddenly if you tilt the camera too much while shooting. Also, the hex head of the screw that adjusts the height stripped out and now needs to be replaced. The mounting screw to attach the camera body requires a coin or screwdriver. They should have used a screw head with a fold-out handle (like Manfrotto's QR plates). My biggest complaint is that the way it is designed makes it nearly impossible to fit into any of my camera bags. The sharp edges can scratch gear while in the bag.

I needed to get the flash off the camera to prevent "red eye" images. With the flash on the bracket, the ilumination on the subject was lighted much better. In addition, the bracket allowed the flash to be positioned over the lens when I turned the camera vertically.

Love this, only thing I would say is get the none slip attachment for your camera and your all set

My only issue with this is it can be a little slower changing lenses as the stand comes out but it performs great otherwise

My second flash braket and 10x better than the strobeframe I used before. My only complaint is when it's used with the veritcle grip on my Nikon D200 the main support makes you split your fingers around it to grip the camera. Otherwise it's a quick change between the two poistions.

I bought this bracket to shoot a wedding, and it was great. It did not loosen off I also bought the anti-twist plate for the camera (20d) The only problem I had was I could not change the battery with the bracket in place, I was not using the battery grip, so it was a bit of a pain to have to remove the bracket to change the battery. Other than that its great.
