The Case Logic SLRC-206 SLR Camera/Laptop Backpack (Black) is designed to carry and protect a SLR camera body with attached zoom lens and accessories. The SLRC-206 has a computer compartment that is compatible with a 16" laptop PC and a 17" MacBook Pro notebook computer. Looked and tested many other laptop/camera bags before deciding on this one. Needed this type of bag because I travel to Europe and Asia for extended periods of time. Here is what I take: Canon 20d, Canon 28-70mm, 50mm, 70-200mm, 3 CF cards, CF card reader, 15" Dell laptop, AC power cord, trackball, universal power adapter, large Kodak DX-7440 point and shoot, battery charger for both cameras, misc AV cords, 3 extra filters, two extra lens caps, few other misc items, and I still have room to squeeze a couple more things (I am well traveled so I can get creative). This bag fits perfectly under the airplane seat in front of you. If you're over 6ft tall you might want to put it in the overhead bin. This bag does what it is designed to do...carry your laptop and photo gear.
Things it doesn't do; carry books (plural), stuff you bought at a market, leftovers from eating out, other large non computer/photo items.
Things it could improve; weather sealed (traveled around Korea during the rainy season and everything stayed dry; I carried an umbrella most days but got caught out a few times), little extra padding on straps.
The bag holds its shape, plastic bottom is a big plus when putting bag down on wet surfaces, how camera rests in bag is awesome, excellent padding; dropped bag loaded minus laptop from bed twice, call me stupid, and everything was fine. I don't know why other reviewers gave 4 stars only. If this is 4 stars all the rest are 1 stars in my opinion. Hope this review is helpful.

This back pack is well put together and is very durable. The innovative camera hammock system and the rubberized bottom is brilliant. the padding inside is very thick and durable. I don't like the Velcro tripod straps. the y don't secure the tripod very well at all. They should have spent a little more on production and adopted a clip system that has been proven very effective by other manufacturers. The inner cushions on the shoulder straps seem cheep and could have been made better.

Comments about Case Logic SLRC-206 SLR Camera/Laptop Backpack:
I was looking for a backpack small enough to be able to be shoved under an airline seat but large enough to fit a camera + 4 lenses and a tablet computer with a full keyboard; I had had one of the Tamrac series previously, and while I liked the bag, it didn't fit well under that seat. This one does the job nicely, holds all the gear I wanted it too, and still had room to shove chargers and a pocket camera into spare slots. The bright orange interior might look silly, but it makes it easy to see things in there!

Comments about Case Logic SLRC-206 SLR Camera/Laptop Backpack:
Just got back from a 2 weeks Europe trip where I had to take my dslr, lenses, and laptop and ipad with me. So this was my test bed for the bag and it came through well after the trip. In short, I am glad I got this bag for the trip. Very useful to carry all these items all in one well protected bag.For more details, read on. Main reason for getting this bag is, in the past, I would have a big backpack, put my laptop in it and a separate camera bag put inside this backpack. You can see it is rather cumbersome and cannot easily take the camera out when needed to take a shot. So I wanted one bag that carries all, with relatively easy access, and good cushion for my camera equipment and my laptop. This backpack did exactly what I needed as I find after my 2 weeks trip.I had a 7D, 1 lens attached to the camera, and 3 additional lens. 1 macbook air and 1 ipad2.Pros:A few things that are actually useful and not gimmick. The camera suspension system is actually quite good. Allows relatively easy access to my dslr. Unlike many of the big backpacks that requires a full bag opening to get to my camera, this allows quick access. The plastic molded bottom (where it allows the bag to stand) is also actually very useful. Many times either I am tired or in the street, having the bag being able to steadily stand on its own was very useful. Plus with that plastic molded bottom, I didn't have to worry about wet or dirty ground contacts. I know the bag will not get wet and it is easy to clean after if needed. The little adhesive to wrap up the remaining loose strap are also useful. Prevents tangled strap mess. The 2 adhesive strap that prevents a full opening of the back of the bag is actually very useful and very easy to open and close, allowing easy control of just opening the top of the bag for the dslr, OR open the 2 small strap and open the whole top of the bag. They actually do work well in reality.A pretty good number of pockets. This was the only bag I carried to the plane basically, and it carried everything else I needed besides my dslr, lenses, and laptop and associated accessories. I had headphones, adapters, memory cards, small cables, chargers for my laptop and ipad, electric plug converters, small camera, small wallet, a small gorilla pod.Good cushion inside the bag. The bag overall is also pretty light weight itself. Also, for me, the size of the bag was really good. I did not want a backpack too big. But it had to be big enough to comfortably fit all the stuff I need to put in it. The size was perfect for me, big enough, but not bulky or too big.Cons:Now for the reason why this bag did not get a full 5 stars.. The strap and the cushioning of the strap could be better. With the kind of equipment I had, the bag got pretty heavy. This bag only has 2 main strap like a typical backpack. So no hiking like torso / ab strap, or the mid strap between the 2 shoulder straps. The padding on the shoulder strap is also not very thick, hence doesn't have a lot of cushion. So carrying this bad for a long time can get a little tiring. Plus if you have a heavy load, the strap will not feel super comfortable over time and you would feel heavy. I was worried if the strap would come off at some point given my bag was pretty heavy but it was fine, didn't have a problem at all. The backpack's top handle (so you can carry the bag just by holding it) was very useful and sturdy though. Its too bad with everything so good on this bag that the strap was not made better. Its "almost" the perfect bag.. just too bad they didn't go a little of the extra mile to make every part of the bag flawless. Strap is pretty important in a bag like this. If Case Logic were to do an v2 / upgrade of this bag, please make the strap much better. More cushioning, and add the waist strap for better support and comfort carrying the bag. With the room this bag has, it is not hard to make this heavy real fast.Hope this review help others.

This bag does it all. Its got plenty of room for all your gear. I hold a 16-35mm, a 24-105, a 50 f/1.4, a 5d mark ii, battery charger, extra battery, and other stuff, and, I still have room for one to two lenses. The tripod straps work fine. Overall, the best [$] I've spent. Just buy it.

Comments about Case Logic SLRC-206 SLR Camera/Laptop Backpack:
I use the bag to carry my laptop and gear I use for DSLR videography
What's in my bag:
-Macbook Pro 17in
-- Its a perfect fit, I worry about the zippers a bit though
- Zoom H4N
- Canon T2i
- 1 spare lens
- Charger
- Batteries
- cleaning kit
- battery grip
- computer mouse
- gorilla pod (on side, with a little strap)
- monopod (on side, with velcro tripod straps)
Whats good
- customizable
- i would say its a bang for the buck, other laptop camera bags are pricey or not as good
- good construction
- the straps have a little velcro on them so you prevent the straps from shifting on their own when you move around with a heavy bag
- i like the front pouch, its bigger than it looks i can fit my bluetooth mouse in there without forcing it. the pocket is smaller at the bottom then gets bigger at the top
Can be improved
- Because of the rubber bottom you can't open up the zippers all the way. it gets in the way of items you put in the bottom slots
- the sling for the camera wastes space beside it, and under it
but with some creativity and mad packing skills you can move the padding around an maximize the space for your items
- can't close the bag when i put the camera in the cligh with the battery grip on

This camera backpack is not flashy...and so the risk of getting your gear stolen is very slim. I use it to store my gear to keep them off the eyesight of my little children. Everything is in it...camera body 3 different lenses all the accessories and still have rooms for more. The padding is adjustable..it's a PLUS!When I need to go on a photo session or just venturing around..I just stuff my laptop, attach the tripod and go. This is well worth the price I paid and I will pay for this bag again if I have to which doesn't seem to be the case.

I use the product to hold my dslr and a couple heavy lenses, along with my lightweight laptop. It seems like it will be comfortable enough, but I'm not sure I'd want to take a long hike with everything on my back. It's good for an airport trip, to carry everything with me in the cabin, but for a longer walk, I'd want something smaller and lighter.

Its a great pack, the materials are great. The space and organizers better than every pack I've tried. Can't beat the price!!
I use mine for a Nikon D300s and its perfect with any some lens attached. You can fit at least 3 lens (I take a 18-200mm, 50mm and 18-55mm and can fit on more zoom and one more fix mm lens too) including charger, SB700 Flash. The Laptop space is great, you can fit a 17" Macbook pro, but in my case I fit my 13" Macbook pro and my iPad with NO problem. The side pockets great, great access and a lot of organizing spaces, lots of small pockets all around for quick access manuals, flash card, cleaners etcs. The straps for the tripod are great, I carry a 4 piece leg by Manfrotto and have another strap on the other side to take you monopod as well. Can beat this bag, very complete, light weight (without equipment) so you can take more equipment with you.
A rain cover with have been good or at least protected zippers for rain.
I could never consider paying more for a bag, but now that I have this back, I would pay $200 if that was its cost. And YES the back stand on it's own.

I received this as a gift for my new DSLR and it's perfect! I can carry my charger, 2 lens, camera body and I still have a little room to grow. This is great if you'll be using multiple lens to shoot. You might consider a smaller bag for less gear.

I use this backpack to carry my DSLR, lenses and sound-gear.
Pros: accessibility and space. I carry four lenses, plus microphones and a Zoom h4 recorder.
I can store my camera with the lens I am using and it is very easy to pull it out.
The velcro attachement for the tripod is great. I use it for my shoulder pad.
I can fit everything that I need for a complete day of recording... Including a 17' macbook pro.
The padding is great and the materials are resistant but without adding extra weight!
Finally: the price is really competitive!

I purchased this backpack for a photo trip to Paris. I could configure the interior to meet my needs for the number and sizes of all my lenses. And the exterior pockets were exactly what I needed for maps, keys, my tripod and other personal items. In addition, I could carry my laptop with me in it on the plane.
The yellow interior made it easy to see and locate the lens I needed quickly. So many interiors are black which can make it difficult.
Finally, we walked for hours every day and it was very comfortable to wear.

I also own a Lowepro Mini Trekker AW backpack so I am compare this bag with Lowepro. They both have a tripod holder (one in the front of the bag, one is on the side); they both carry about the same amount of equipment (canon 5D mark2, 17-40, 24-105, 70-200, 100 macro all with hood on plus manuals, batteries, remote, memory cards, lens cleaning kit, etc).
The differences are: the Lowepro has a front big zip pocket can store stuff but not big enough to store a mac; the Case Logic has a Notebook area on the back that can also store stuff if you don't want to put a NB in it. The Lowepro need to lay flat to reach equipment; the Case Logic can stand upright with rubber bottom and can open only the top area for camera with attached lens.
On the shoulder straps, I think Lowepro's feels a bit better because it fit on my shoulder better.

I have had a Canon backpack for several years now, and recently ran out of room packing everything I had accumulated. This backpack has enough storage for a 70-200 f/4 lens, 60D with 24-105 (hood detached), a 50mm macro, 430EX II flash, battery grip, extra battery/charger and couple other smaller items. It is well constructed and nice, stiff backpack. Fits comfortably on my back. When necessary I can easily pack my 13" MBP + power + small external hard drive. I think this is a great buy.

I was looking for a good backpack for my camera, and I got this one. It's great for DSLRs.
Great features:
- can fit lots of lenses and acessories without being too bulky
- it's comfy
not so great:
- though it gives you easy acess with the camera suspension, maybe it's not as easy as other backpacks.
Overall, I think it's the best backpack there is to fit lots of equipment in its' size.
