The Lee SW150 Filter Holder Kit enables you to use both graduated and traditional filters with Nikon's 14-24mm lens.
This Lee holder can handle a wide variety of 150 x 170mm resin, and 150 x 150mm standard filters. There are two slots for multiple filter use. For those who prefer the grads, you'll be happy to know the SW150 Holder rotates a wonderful 360°. This gives you tremendous capabilities especially when using Lee's high-quality graduated filters.
The system will also hold an SW150 System Adapter that will allow you to attach the SW150 to any standard Lee adapter ring. This added feature will allow you to use the SW150 on just about any lens you can think of and making the SW150 a filter system worth keeping in your gear bag 24/7.
For the landscape/outdoor shooter, the 2-stop Graduated Neutral Density Filter that comes with the system will more than get you in the game. The 2-stop filtration will allow you to blur that rippling water or make that high-flying bird seem to streak through air at super speed.
Neutral Density Filters Have Four Main Uses
- To enable slow shutter speeds to be used, especially with high speed films, to record movement in subjects such as waterfalls, clouds, or cars
- To decrease depth of field by allowing wider apertures to be used, which helps separate subjects from their background
- To decrease the effective ISO of high speed film (above ISO 400) and allow it to be used outdoors in bright situation
- To allow cine and video cameras (which have fixed shutter speeds) to film subjects such as snow, sand or other bright scenes which could cause overexposure
