Bought this combo to begin unloading data off my PCs and external hard-drives, leaving only critical data on my PCs (and even that I use DroboCopy to copy to the Drobo).Having had failed internal and external hard drives, I finally hope I have peace of mind with my data (including pics, video, music). I can justify this investment as I have spent almost $500 recovering data in the last few years, and still did not get it all.I really likei)the secure partitions I can create and map as different drives on my network for different users.ii) email alertsiii) DroboCopyiv) expandable storage, and the hotswapv) the unit sits about 6ft from me, and I cannot hear it. Right next to it, there is a quite hum.vi) Fast enough for me, even when streaming content.The Dorobo FS did take some calls to tech support (who were available on the phone), primarily to figure out how to work around my personal firewall. After that, it is working like a charm.
