Pearstone's 4 AA NiMH Batteries with 4 Hour Charger comes with a set of 4 AA NiMH batteries, and it can also be used to charge NiCad/NiMH AAA batteries. The cradle accepts up to 4 batteries, for a charging cycle that lasts 4 hours, regardless of the number of batteries being charged.
The included, long-lasting, rechargeable and reliable batteries can be used at home or on the road. The handy charging unit is small and lightweight. Best of all, the unit is dual voltage making it the perfect tool to be taken on a long international journey (requires optional plug adapter). The outlet prongs fold in to the unit giving it a more compact appearance.
Each charging channel is individually monitored by LEDs, which will let you know when your batteries are charged. In addition, the auto cut-off system prevents overcharging or potential damage to the system. The LCD display shows you actual charging status rather than simple LEDs. This gives you a more accurate sampling of where your batteries stand in terms of charge.
Note! Actual charge time may vary depending on cell's discharge level, capacity and condition. Longer times may occur when charger is used in temperatures above 95°F (35°C)

Comments about Pearstone NM-4H26LCD 4 AA NiMH Batteries with 4 Hour Charger (2600mAh,110-240V):
The AA battery chargers I owned in the past were junk. My Surprise. This is a solidly built, sleek in design product that charges batteries quickly. This is a great product that blends in well with my expensive camera and computer gear. Intuitive, excellent features that perform well.

Comments about Pearstone NM-4H26LCD 4 AA NiMH Batteries with 4 Hour Charger (2600mAh,110-240V):
The total package of the charger and batteries is a great bargain.
I took the option to decharge the batteries first, then charge. (Little green button on the front is for that).
The decharge + full charge of all 4 batteries took about 10-11 hours.
The subsequent recharge (after 1st use) took about 4 hours if i recall.
USE:
I used the batteries for a photo shoot for about 350 flash pictures. This drained the batteries 100%
So, thats about 1/2 of what I'd get out of Alkaline batteries, and a lot longer to get them ready. But in the end, Alkaline have to be replaced - so the reward far outweigh the cost.
I gave this a 4 instead of a 5 for one reason only. The batteries are of an irregular shape.
Put it next to a Duracell, and it looks the same. Put it in your 580, and you'll discover instantaneoulsy that the batteries almost DO NOT FIT in a AA space.
I had to use a knife to take the batteries out of the flash. Initially i couldn't even close the battery cover door... i feared it would break the door. I got a pair of pliers and rolled it around the batteries and they juuuuusst fit. I still can't just turn the flash on its side and they fall out. I still need to "wiggle" them out.
I thought for a second it was just this batch or maybe I had secondaries. But, I also bought the 8 pk with the charger. Thats a total of 12 batteries.
ALL 12 DID NOT REALLY FIT WITHOUT MY HELP.
So, they work great. But be prepared to use some plies and a towel to "crush 'em down a bit".
I wonder ... i didn't see anyone else note this in their review... could it be I got the only 12 on the planet with this problem.. all 12!?!...

I have used Pearstone batteries for some time now but I really like the charger that has the meter reading for each battery on it. Sometimes my batteries get mixed up and I can tell which ones need a full charge and which ones are already charged. Plus, the meters let me know where each battery is in the charging process.

Comments about Pearstone NM-4H26LCD 4 AA NiMH Batteries with 4 Hour Charger (2600mAh,110-240V):
These batteries fit my needs perfectly, they last a long time in my flash.
The only downside is that given the type of battery they are, they lose their charge relatively quickly. So, if they have been sitting in my bag for a couple of days, I charge them before I'm going to use them because the power will be quite low. This isn't the fault of the batteries, though, it's just the limitation of the technology.
