Griffin Technology iTrip Auto FM Transmitter and Charger for iPod and iPhone
The Griffin iTrip Auto FM Transmitter and Charger for iPod and iPhone lets you enjoy your tunes on the road while charging your player. Compatible with the iPhone, iPod touch, and many other iPod models, the iTrip Auto features inline remote controls, assignable presets, stereo and mono play modes, and Griffin's SmartSound signal adjustment. The SmartScan button tunes your car radio to the frequency iTrip chooses. However, you can still select frequencies manually as well. Control of the iTrip Auto is made even simpler for iPhone and the touch with the free iTrip Controller app download available from the App Store.

This is a very easy to use accessory to listen to your personally selected music while driving. It's so easy to use that I never even bothered to read directions. It does occasionally get some static or have interference on the pre-set channel you have selected but that's a problem any device of this nature would have depending on your locale. I would definitely recommend it. As always, the price[...] from B&H were great.

I have to say this is a hard review to write. I took the iTrip out of the box and it had everthing I wanted. Sleek, small size, well constructed, full featured with RDS text and options to enhance the sound. The big BUT is that the signal strength is not strong enough to provide consistently clear sound. The smartscan feature quickly recommended different stations but they were all close to other stations which would bleed over as I drove. I tried unsuccessfully over three days to find a setting that would work, without luck. The minimum tunable station is 88.1 so you can't get to the free space under the standard broadcast band. My radio can be tuned to 87.x so if they had allowed that, I would have rated it 5 stars. I have an SUV so the distance from the dash to the antenna is a bit longer than in a smaller car.

Can't expect to have perfect sound using this type of music playback but this item does a great job for the price. In a larger city where there are numerous radio stations you may need to change the frequency quite often but this is very simple to do using this transmitter vs. others. The quality of buttons & features appear they will hold up.

Takes a little fiddling to find the best station to tune into, but once that's done it works OK. The sound does include a little, barely audible static, but it's fairly close to the sound quality you get from your car radio.
This model is ONLY for use in the car, as it must be plugged into your cigarette lighter in order to work.
