The SE425 in-ear headphones from Shure provide top-quality audio in a sleek, compact, noise-isolating design that's ideal for use at home or on-the-road. Based on Shure's experience with professional in-ear monitors, each of the earpieces has dual high-definition MicroDrivers, in essence putting a separate woofer and tweeter into each ear for rich, detailed audio across the full frequency spectrum. The ergonomic, professional design has a low-profile shape with an optimized nozzle angle for exceptional comfort.
The included fit kit contains multiple sizes of ear sleeves, allowing you to find the perfect size for your ear and effectively reduce ambient noise by as much as 37dB so you can focus on your music. The detachable Kevlar-reinforced cable connects to the earpieces using gold-plated MMCX connectors to lock in place but also provide a 360° rotation. This rotation, along with the formable wire, allows you to direct the cable over and behind the ears to minimize snags and tangles. The other end of the cable has a 3.5mm mini plug and a 1/4" adapter for wide compatibility with consumer and professional audio devices. A compact and durable case is included for storage and transportation.

I use these headphones as in-ear monitors for live gigs and they have been amazing! The contour of the ear bud attachments fits right in the curvature of your ear which means they lock in and stay put. Love the range of lows and highs. I finally have headphones that don't fall out and give me a full mix!
I've also been using them for when I'm getting work done at coffee shops and the snug fit means you block out the noise around you and can get stuff done!
I'd highly recommend these headphones. Great for people who want high quality but can't afford customs.

Comments about Shure SE425 Sound Isolating In-Ear Stereo Headphones (Metallic Silver):
I've been a Sennheiser fan for years and have never had a complaint about the sound quality (still don't) but the Shure SE425s are another level or two above anything I've heard from in-ear 'phones before. Brilliant crisp high-ends counterpointed by strong, but not overpowering, bass while still leaving the mid-range crystal clear. The sound is literally amazing. I'm hearing a whole other level to the music. I'm blown away.
So why did I give it 4 stars? (I would have liked the option for 4.5) The cable. It's ridiculously and annoyingly long. I can hang the cable free while the buds are in and it reaches the tops of my sneakers. (I'm 5'11") It's way too much cable unless you're in the studio and need the length to move around. A detachable cable (I believe the previous incarnation of this model had one) would be ideal and allow for some customization in cable length. It's enough of a problem that it does detract a little from the listening experience as it gets tangled and is heavy. I've resorted to coiling it and using the twist-ties it came with to try and manage the length- a truly inelegant solution.

I have owned shure earbuds in the past. single driver ones because I didn't want to pay the money. Well, I am finding out more and more, you get what you pay for. And in this case, it's a good thing!! The sound quality is fantastic. You can hear every instrument individually. And for an avid METAL listener like me, that is very important. I liked these ear buds so much, I bought another pair for my girlfriend a week later. The only catch is you must get used to the proper way to put them in your ears. BUT, once you do it, you got it down! If you are a music enthusiast or a musician, these are buds are way worth the money!!! Also, I travel most of the year, these ear buds are an absolute must for frequent travelers!!! Kills all plane noise.....AND KID NOISE

Great sound, clear and crisp throught the spectrum, though not as hot as the E4Cs I bought these to replace. A little lacking in the low-end, which is to be expected for drivers of this size (you can't defy physics).
Still, I'm very satisfied with the purchase.

these headphones are awesome! the build quality is top notch and the sound quality is well worth the price. i have been able to hear things in my music that i didn't know was there before!
a great feature is that the headphones have a detachable cable, which makes for easy cable replacement.
i really love the fit of the headphones. the shape retaining aspect of headphone cable makes them really stay in my ears. there is an abundance of different ear bud shapes. i really like the triple flange ones. they are very soft and only go in as far as my ear is wide. and they really stay in!

These are professional quality in every way. They come with a coupon inviting you to go to an audiologist and have a mold made to send in and have custom inserts. The cord detaches, it comes with a full pack of different size inserts., a wax cleaner, a large size plug adapter, and an okay case.
Sound quality is top notch.

I use them for monitoring (I sing on a really loud band!!) and daily use. Unsurpassed for isolating external noise and great sound as well. If you want to protect your hearing, this is the way to go either on stage, rehearsing, or on a plane since you can keep volume really low without compromising enjoyment.
