The MRS-6 from Technical Pro is a pair of near-to-mid field studio monitor speakers ideal for use in home or project studios operating on a budget. Each speaker has a 6" woofer and a 3" tweeter to provide a wide frequency response. One speaker is active and houses the system's 40W RMS amplifier, while the other speaker is passive and receives audio and power from the primary speaker. The monitors have standard RCA input and output connectors for wide compatibility with a variety of sound systems.

These speakers sound great when they work, but they don't work for all that long.The first pair I received was DOA out of the box.The replacement pair worked for 3 weeks, 20hours, before they fried themselves.The amplifier on the powered speaker has no ventilation and probably overheats itself if you have it powered on for more than 2 hours.[...]but you get what you pay for. I've had $20 5.1 PC speakers that have lasted for years, and these 'Pro' speakers can't even make it one month.

I have these speakers on my computer desk at home. I toggle them between my graphics and audio workstations, as well as my iPhone.
They play LOUD, crisp, clear, wonderful sounding music that rivals speakers costing 10x as much.
This is definitely a great deal.
