The Varizoom Rock-DVX & VZ-PFI Studio Setup combines the remote zoom rocker of the Rock-DVX with the focus and iris controls of the VZ-PFI, giving you a finer degree of control over your Panasonic camcorder. Utilizing the dual ports on HVX, HMC, HPX & DVX cameras, these two devices attach to your tripod handle and bring precision, range, and variable speed to your camerawork, for a broadcast-like feel.
Note! VZ-PFI not compatible with AG-DVX100, AG-DVX100A, AG-DVC30, AG-DVC60, AG-DVC80 camcorders

I use these for event videography, documentary, and single-cam filmmaking. I love the ability to control the most camera's essential functions down on the tripod arms, rather than having to get my arms and hands tangled up reaching up to the camera body. Sometimes the camera's zoom rocker is on the wrong side of the camera and I reaching over with my left hand is awkward.
Also, I find that I can control a slow ramp-up and ramp-down at the start and stop of a zoom MUCH more precisely with the VariZoom rocker than I can with the camera's rocker.
