The BlackRapid RS-W1 Camera Strap (Black) is a lightweight strap specially designed with a frilly pattern for women. A locking FastenR3 connects the strap to the tripod socket located on either the camera body or the lens. Once connected, the camera hangs upside down, resting securely at the side or in the small of the back, with the lens pointing behind. The strap has a curved pad with a mesh underside for comfort and breathability. The weight is evenly distributed for comfort.

Love this strap. The main feature is that the wieght has been equally dispersed from my neck to spread evenly across my shoulders, back and chest. The curve of the women's design is perfect. The instruction pamphet I recieved was ever so simple to follow, like step 1,2,3 etc. The unique feature is the way the strap attaches to your camera, by a locking carabiner which screws into the tripod socket at the bottom of the camera or onto your lens. I was a little nervous having my 50D and 70-200 2.8, dangling, upside-down but it proved to be strong and very secure.
Admittingly I did check the R3 screw regularly.
Now for insurance purposes, my camera dropping accidentaly off this system would not be covered. So I purchased from B&H a quick release plate and two uni-loop system connectors. I screwed the R3 to the quick release plate, the quick release plate attaches to your camera's base plate, remember to tighten. (this system is also very quick to remove from your camera's base plate when you want to use your tripod as well). From their I attached one of the uni-loops to the top part of the carabiner and the other to the side of my camera, extra safe. This gear is prescious to me. I intend to purchase another strap with the same set up for my 5D mark 11.

I wanted to love this strap. So far, it has failed to do what it promises. First, it came with no instructions. None. I searched the 'net for videos and found none for the particular strap--just a bunch of promos touting the greatness of the strap. The other R series videos helped some but I couldn't get the strap to take up the slack after adjusting it to fit me.
I emailed Black Rapid, they told me that a video for the RS W1 being made "as we speak" and that I should check later that day or the next. I found one new promo that I hadn't seen before. Nothing new the next day either. So far nothing. If I want to keep this, I'd have to content with a huge loop in the strap that no amount of adjusting removes, making it look tacky.
Not happy. Perhaps I received a defective one? I'm returning it. I will try a new one before I give up entirely.

This is the strap you want if you want to carry your camera more often. Now I take more picture than ever, just because I have my camera with me.

I use the strap all the time. It is way more comfortable than the Canon strap that comes with the camera and easy to adjust. Padded enough but not overly so.

Comments about BlackRapid RS-W1 Camera Strap:
Very comfortable and safe way to carry my camera. It never took long for my previous strap to become very uncomfortable with the weight of my camera pulling on my neck - especially if I had a longer lens attached. Even after hours of walking around with the RS-W1, I have not experienced any discomfort. Love how quickly and effortlessly I can bring my camera up to eye level for shooting and then just slide it right back down to my side. Excellent product!

Comments about BlackRapid RS-W1 Camera Strap:
Just shot a wedding with it. Very comfortable and it was so much nicer to have the camera at my side versus the bouncing on my stomach and, erm, other things a regular strap did.
I would totally recommend this for women.
Leave out the frilly bit. Women shooters don't really care. At least not this one.

This is my first really nice strap, because I am just getting started, but I made an excellent choice with this one. It is functional and yet has a nice design.

The Rapid Strap works great. It's nice when I need to be able to bend over and have my camera behind my back so it doesn't hit the ground. Super easy to attach and I like the way my camera can slide along the strap.

I use this product for all my event photography and find it to be a great tool.
The best thing about it for me is that there is no extra weight in my hands, or around my neck this way. I needed a solution to problems with my back and this has been a great choice. If I had to be picky sometimes you need to make sure your lens doesn't hit anything since it is at your side but I believe this is something that becomes intuitive as you work with the strap. I love it!

I thought it would be difficult to get her to give up the neck strap, boy was I wrong. She loves using this strap and it took NO time for her to become accustomed to using it.

I love this strap. I have shoulder/neck issues and using the strap that came with the camera made it worse! This makes it so much easier on my body and to use.

This strap is one of the best to use when you use two cameras one can hang on each side of your hip.

Comments about BlackRapid RS-W1 Camera Strap:
I've had the Black Rapid strap for a couple of weeks now and I really love it. Honestly, I was a bit nervous at first, having my camera dangle upside-down, but it's really secure (I check to make sure the camera's on there tight before putting it on). This strap really frees up my hands when I'm not shooting and provides the perfect range of motion when I am. Maybe the only thing I would change would be the texture of the webbing, which could be a bit softer. Otherwise, it's great!

Comments about BlackRapid RS-W1 Camera Strap:
I wish I had known about this strap years ago or at least prior to my three month odyssey in India when my camera was a constant companion, dangling cross-body. And I had to wrestle with the straps of my backpack and also money belt in order to free up the camera's straps so that I could shoot. And then pausing for a break also involved peeling off layers of other straps in order to take my camera off to lay it down. This fabulous design allows me access to the camera absolutely free of any such encumbrances...a real quality-of-life change for the better!

I'm 6'1" and the fully lengthened strap barely falls to my waist. Too short for my comfort. Otherwise, seemed well-constructed.

I saw this product at Photo Expo in NYC and loved it. I purchased it to help me hold my camera at a recent wedding and it was the perfect accessory. It allowed for more fluid movement and and ability to pick up or drop the camera without fear of damaging your camera.
