Bought this for the backyard patio. It looks really nice, and it's easy to set up. We have it plugged in, so I don't know about the battery life. The sound quality pretty much is terrible. You can't turn it up loud without a lot of static feedback. We never turn on the bass boost because of this. Also the wireless connection isn't great, it goes in and out sometimes, or this loud jarring scratch every now and then even though it's only about 15 feet from the wireless hub. Cheap computer speakers sound much better than this thing. I guess I'm just surprised they can charge this much for such terrible sound, but then this is basically one of the cheapest outdoor speakers you can buy. It gets 3 stars since it looks nice and it's so easy to set up.

My daughter purchased this speaker last year. We ordered one from B&H for our son's birthday. Then I ordered another one for us! As I type this I am listening to it for the first time. It is out on our patio and I am upstairs in my office. The sound clarity and volume is perfect. Everything is great about this speaker...the value, the sound, the ease of set-up, the portability...everything. Buy one...better yet...buy more than one!

Excellent sound. Bass can distort if too loud. Simple to set up and use with iPhone.

We purchased this speaker to complement the AW826 we already have. Now we can listen to our favorite tunes in stereo. My wife and I hardly go an evening without taking our pair of AW826 speakers outdoors with us on the patio and kick back to relax. We are extremely pleased with the quality of the product construction and the sound as well. The only thing I wish was a little better is having a little longer AC adapter cord length. Other than that, they are Awesome!

This was exactly what we were looking for. It's not the top of the line, but it provides us exactly what we were looking for on our patio. We will probably be buying at least one more to separate the sound.
Would recommend this to anyone that asked about it.

This was a great purchase. [...] Everything I expected. Works great & the sound is way better then I thought it would be. A must have for the summer months on the deck or by the fire.

These speakers were purchased for an outside patio but I also use them in my gym for workout music. For the workouts they are put to the test for volume and base. The do ok, with some distortion if you go too loud. At the level where the distortion goes away, they are only at mid level volume.
Recommended for lighter use.
I like the look and mainly got these for a patio setting where the tunes wouldn't be too loud. The stero function is nice if you buy two, can run stero from one transmitter. Haven't tried batteries yet, so can't speak for that performance.
Your source must be constant level or say from an IPod, max volume, less means weaker signal. But still I do get some interference some times. Channel switch doesn't make a difference for this. Not a big deal, these are not performance speakers, just conveient and easy to place and use.
