Element Technica MANTIS Hand-held Kit

The Element Technica MANTIS Hand-held Kit is a hand-held rig with high customization ability, suitable for film or digital motion picture cameras.

You can quickly set up the camera using the dovetail interface that allows quick modification from a tripod to hand-held mode. Two rosette mounted handles with bicycle-style grips offer easy operation; the handles also include a mount for the ViewFactor Origo remote start/stop button. Telescopic handle extensions provide an extension range of 8 to 14".

Side-to-side or rotational adjustments are possible for the rosette cross-bar at the front of the dovetail. You can easily use the MANTIS with a 1000’ film and 5:1 zoom capacity Arricam owing to the presence of a strong clamp. A 2-axis gimbal allows the shoulder pad to be adjusted along multiple axis along with fore and aft linear adjustments.

Specifically designed for the Arriflex-style hybrid bridge plates, you can use the MANTIS with the 435, Arricam, Moviecam, and Phantom. An offset angle of the shoulder pad relative to the camera aligns the camera and operator’s line-of-sight perfectly. Easy adjustments to the shoulder pad to suit any shoulder and body-type are possible.
