The VAIO Z VPCZ127GX/B 13.1" Notebook Computer from Sony is a compact notebook computer, built with all-day computing in mind. The system can operate for up to 7 hours per charge using the included standard capacity battery. The compact system is about 1.3 inches inch thin when closed and weighs a scant 3 pounds.
The system features a 13.1" LCD display with a LED backlight, 16:9 aspect ratio, and 1600 x 900 resolution. It is rife with wireless options -- 802.11n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR are standard issue. Using the computer is comfortable too, as it features a chiclet keyboard and a multi-gesture touchpad. The VAIO Z also sports a DVD burner, webcam, integrated microphone, memory card reader, and an ExpressCard/34 expansion slot.
The computer is powered by a 2.4GHz Intel Core i5-520M CPU, which can be overclocked to 2.93GHz thanks to Intel Turbo Boost. It is loaded with 6GB of RAM and 384GB of solid state storage. Graphics are handled by a hybrid system -- battery-saving integrated Intel GMA HD graphics are used for day-to-day tasks and dedicated nVIDIA GeForce GT 330M 1GB graphics are available for tasks that require more horsepower from the GPU. Windows 7 Professional (64-bit) is the installed operating system.
