Steinberg CI1 - USB Recording Solution
The CI1 from Steinberg combines a USB powered audio interface with a software package that together provide great possibilities to create, record, edit and produce your own music and audio material. With its intuitive music creation tools and the included Sequel LE version you have all you need to create songs. Additionally, the CI1 along with the light editions of Sequel and WaveLab present the ideal tool kit for editors and podcasters looking to record speech, publish podcasts and produce audio books.
On the hardware side, the CI1's two-channel inputs with +48V phantom power and high-quality microphone preamps provide all capabilities necessary to connect any dynamic or condenser microphone. Being fully USB-powered, it's no problem to record music whenever and wherever without having to find a mains outlet - the user can simply plug the CI1 into a notebook, connect a microphone or guitar, and start jamming on the spot.
Sequel LE delivers a selection of quality loops, ready-to play instrument sounds, effects and the same state of-the-art Steinberg audio engine found in Cubase and Nuendo. WaveLab LE 7 offers a suite of audio editing tools tailored to the needs of musicians, small recording environments and podcast authors. The podcast tool combines basic editing and mastering capabilities with full internet audio publishing features, creating a unique one-stop application for recording, editing right through to online publication via podcast.

- The Tap Tempo function helps you to assign the tempo of each audio file or to fix the tempo of the song
- When processing gets intense, there's the Track Freeze function which frees up CPU power for more tracks and effects
- With Windows Vista or Windows 7, Sequel LE runs at very low latencies even without external ASIO hardware using the Vista Core Audio driver

I just received this interface and I can tell you that it sounds extremely great. And when I say "extremely great" I mean this interface gives you the most real sound you can imagine. The sound that c... read more [+]omes through it, isn't boomy as if it comes from your computer sound system neither it is too bright...it is, as I told you...REAL!!! This interface really slaps in the face of the Shure X2u both in sound quality and features. For the same price of the Shure X2u you get an interface with two high-quality XLR inputs of which one can be used to connect your electric guitar or electric bass, you also a separate volume control for your headphones, a master output volume control among other great features like phantom power and it also has two Line outs. Not to mention it comes with both Sequel LE and Wavelab LE and it has a sound quality of 24 bit depth/48 khz audio resolution...PLUS you can use this interface with most audio and music production software in the market. So, forget about the Shure X2u and buy this beautiful interface, YOU'RE NOT GONNA REGRET IT!!!
