Bescor ATM-PRU Automatic Universal Charger (12V, 1.5A)
The Bescor ATM-PRU Automatic Universal Charger (12V, 1.5A) is an automatic "smart" battery charger that's universally compatible (with optional adapter). The ATM-PRU will charge the Bescor PRB series battery belts and shoulder packs. The charger's universal plug-in feature allows it to be used "worldwide" in 110-240VAC. It is also designed to automatically stop the charge cycle once the battery is fully charged.

After having travelled to Germany to do some filming, and having to dissect my old U.S. only charger in order to charge my battery pack (with a car battery charger), I found the Universal charger. I'm not sure why they offer both the U.S. only and universal styles; it would seem to me that they could save some time and money by only making the universal charger.
At any rate, as both are the same price I would recommend just getting this charger to begin with, since the U.S. only charger doesn't take too kindly to European electricity.
The charger works well, albeit with a somewhat long charge time(10+ hours). Still, you can't beat Bescor's price versus Anton Bauer, etc...

I purchased this charger as a replacement for the now dicontinued ATM-PRB and which blew the fuse on my battery the first time I tried it and also broke at the plug, well when I got this one and tried it, it also blew the fuse on the battery, this is a new battery by the way and also from Bescor (perfectly compatible with the charger) so now I sent it to Bescor and they told me they're going to send me one that works. I'm glad I bought it from B&H who promissed me would refund me if the third one doesn't work either. I'll post the results when I get it back.

Charger needs little longer cord at least double its present length. Also connector should be more sturdy. Bescor should keep in mind that their products are mostly used by professionals. If they want to charge more it's fine, but product should be reliable. During past 2 years I have bought at least 8 chargers from B&H. 2 I had to return the next day. They just blew out. Last week I bought 2 more. 1 blew out in 2 days. I have to return that one too.

I used to have the old, non-automatic charger and was always concerned that I would overcharge the battery. With this, I don't anymore. When the battery is charged, it automatically shuts off meaning the light is still green, but it is not charging the battery anymore.

After sending this charger to Bescor for repair, I got it back, tried it and it seems to be working fine, light turned green so the battery must be charged, I probably got a bad charger or something but I can't give it 5 stars because the cigarrette lighter style plug is the cheapest they could've used, the plug that came on the original charger (not automatic shut off)included with the battery is actually much better quality.
