The Panasonic TC-P58VT25 58" VIERA 3D Plasma TV is yet another high-end display to ride the mounting tsunami of panels which turn traditional passive viewing into a completely interactive experience with radically immersive 3D technology. Just slip on the included 3D eyewear and you're on your way.
At 58", the TC-P58VT25 is certainly going to attract attention even before you turn it on. With its Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution and 5,000,000:1 contrast ratio, thanks to proprietary Infinite Black technology, it starts out with some spectacular stats. But then Panasonic has added feature upon feature to improve an already excellent picture. Its 3-D Color Management feature improves the hue, saturation and brightness by precisely honing in on those colors that need correction while leaving others alone. The Anti-Reflective Filter keeps those vivid lifelike colors from being marred by room reflections on the screen. Pair your TC-P58VT25 with a DVD or Blu-ray player that supports 24p playback and you'll watch movies at exactly the frame rate at which they were shot without "jaggies" or "judder".
For the ultimate in quality motion picture viewing, switch to THX mode. THX-certified devices, like the TC-P58VT25, have to meet rigorous standards for image performance and quality, ensuring a superb cinematic experience at home. The TC-P58VT25 also has two USB ports from which it can play programming. You can also use one of the USB ports to plug in a USB wireless LAN adapter (sold separately). The set is already Internet-ready; with its built-in RJ45 jack you can plug directly into your broadband modem or via a router. Panasonic calls it VIERA Cast, You'll call it amazing. Imagine viewing YouTube and Picasa Web Albums on your TV with no PC or external boxes required! The built-in Web menu updates itself automatically as new content becomes available. The addition of Skype makes it possible to talk live to friends all over the world on the TC-P58VT25's big screen by adding a camera. Best of all you can talk for free as long as you want to anyone who's on Skype.
In the past, plasma sets were known as energy gulpers. No more. Your TC-P58VT25 uses only about half the energy similar sets used just a few years ago. With all the latest high technology, Panasonic hasn't forgotten about those who are hearing impaired. This set can display closed captioning from sources that provide it. It's also great in noisy environments like gyms, clubs or conventions.
Finally, Energy Star compliance ensures that your TV will save you money while it helps preserve the environment. Panasonic's TC-P58VT25 poses the question, "Isn't it time you became a participant instead of an observer?"

I bought this tv as the final piece in my home theather renovation and didn't pick it merely by accident. I spent hours on forums read every review of every tv and without a doubt the panasonic vierta v25 models were considered heads above the rest of the pack so I plunked down my cash, hey they can't all be wrong can they?Well they weren't wrong the picture defies description it is truely exceptional and truely superior to anything else out there. Don't believe me? Compare yourself anyone who sees this set side by side with any competitor and says the competitor has a better picture is either color blind or miffed they bought the other. I didn't buy this set for the 3d although that is truly freaky experience I got it because of the ratings it had in 2d. The 3d is just there is frosting in the cake in case it does come online in the future. A minute for B & H,, if you don't buy from them your mental. [...] I live in Maine the shipping company somehow cracked the screen on the first tv thought I was in for a real hassle but on call to B&H and 5 days later I had my replacement set no hassle no argument no problem just excellent good old fashion customer service. You buy from those fly by night drop shipping companies expect fly by night customer service. Hey this is a big purchase go with a company with a proven track record.
Excellent picture.
Read through all the reviews and finally decided on this one. Great 3D images and no ghosting unlike some of the 3D LED TV's that I'd looked at. 2D is just as great if you're not into 3D yet. Setup is easy, took me about half an hour to install the wall mount and had the TV mounted. Have no regrets of purchasing this TV. The only thing that this TV missing is the ability to up convert 2D to 3D which the Samsung does, but I still pick this over the Samsung.

I bought the 58 inch VT25. I did not buy this for 3D. Great price, [...] great tv. Tennis and Hockey- easy to follow the ball/puck- I've never said that before with any tv. Basketball and football, see the sweat glisten, you feel as close as the new overhead cameras on the football stadiums. Skin tones on movies and tv shows are outstanding. I love seeing the women in HD, my wife loves the guys. Better than front row at a play! No reflective glare with this higher model tv.The remote is the most user friendly I've ever seen (I like it much better than our sony, samsung, vizio)Downloading movies- if you are not using a cable for internet connecting, at the same time you order the tv, buy the Panasonic DY-WL10 Wireless LAN Adapter.I replaced 2 year old modem and router, upgraded to 20meg speed. Netflix loads so quickly and cleanly. It is great! Also, photos from my sd card (panasonic ZS3) load immediately and are incredible- even 5 meg photos are stunning on the big screen. Movie clips taken with the camera are great- If you don't have one of Panasonic's cameras before you buy this tv- please do yourself a favor and get one. Lee G.Midland TX

Ordered this TV over the phone[...] Took me about half an hour to mount it on the wall. Connections are simple. Tried the 3D movies that came with the package and I'm impressed. No ghost images like I'd seen on a LED 3D TV. I didn't feel any discomfort from watching in 3D. The only thing that I wish is the 3D glasses could be lighter (like my Ray-Ban sunglasses) I didn't notice any humming noises like my old Sony plasma HDTV. I'm very happy so far with this TV. I just hope it's just as reliable as my Sony that is still working after 6 years.

Beautiful picture expecially when the THX picture mode was selected. Setup was easy. Can not comment on the 3D capability because the 3D player included in the package failed and had to be returned for replacement.

We use this TV primarily for watching sports. The picture size, sharpness, color, and shadow detail makes for a pleasurable experience. We also watch slideshows from our Picasa web site.
The 3D performance is outstanding. Better than any Imax I have seen. Not much 3D material yet though.
The THX mode gives a great picture out of the box. This eliminates a lot of fiddling to get the perfect picture.

Better than going to the movies!
The picture quality is absolutely amazing, with this panasonic you see what the director intended you to see. Too often the big screen movies have video noise and too many visual artifacts that are a distraction.
Now I get to totally enjoy a show/movie without any distractions.
Pure.
Color is dead on.
Brightness is perfect.
Detail seen in dark scenes and shadows is simply stunning, I can now see what the director was seeing through his lens when filming the scene.
Size is perfect for my room.

Set this up for my parents... the picture is phenomenal, especially skin tones vs. LED. Didn't really use 3D as their isn't much content yet and IMHO it's a gimmick. Almost bought the Samsung plasma with the free Blu-Ray player and two 3D glasses, but possible hum issue scared me off. Using a surround sound system, but TV sound was ok/reasonable.
