The device should be placed near your TV, which will result in stable, consistent and smooth sound levels, accepting two-channel LPCM or L/R analog audio input types. Use the bypass button on the front of the unit, or via the IR remote, to flip between movie and TV, where the volume can vary considerably between program output and commercials.

Nowhere in their specs. does it state it doesn't work with a 5 channel (Yamaha ) sound bar .
I checked with Gefen and they finally came back and stated it won't work.
As per your instructions I returned it to Gefen today .
