The Aspire AS5251-1005 15.6" Notebook Computer from Acer is a 15.6" notebook computer with a wide 16:9 aspect ratio. Designed with multimedia performance in mind, the computer is also up to such tasks as e-mail, school work, and financial management. Its multi-gesture trackpad and full-size keyboard make using the computer comfortable and intuitive.
The computer's display features a LED backlight, which delivers more uniform brightness than traditional CCFL LCD panels, while at the same time eliminating the need for a warm-up time and reducing energy use. Its CPU features AMD Vision Technology, which enhances graphics and multitasking performance.
The system is powered by a 2.2GHz AMD V-Series Processor V-120 CPU and boasts 2GB of RAM, a 250GB 5400rpm hard drive, 802.11n Wi-Fi, an integrated webcam, and integrated ATI Radeon HD 4250 graphics. Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) is the installed operating system.

it long lasting i love it.the battery life say it is up to three hour so that is great. All who have a short battery life: you are the cause of that. i love it: only one thing their audio player but i download itunes so i am good. i fix that myself.

This Acer Aspire was my first portable computer. The price was right, screen size and features what I wanted. No complaints so far (I've had it for a couple of weeks) except one that I was forewarned about: short battery life. I need to put a clock to it, but it only seems to run a couple of hours before I need to plug it in again.
I use it on my lap, and like most "laptop" computers, it'll get warm, so I bought a cooling pad to go with it.
It boots up and shuts down MUCH quicker than my desktop (5 years old, running XP) so it'll get a lot of use into the future.
One pleasant surprise: when I used Skype, it had a built-in microphone (somewhere on it) in addition to its built-in camera, which made the live video call very easy!
