The Yamaha YID-W10 Wireless System for iPod goes beyond your average iPod/iPhone dock. The YID-W10 utilizes Yamaha's yAired technology to create a wireless connection (not Bluetooth) with other Yamaha dock-compatible components.
yAired is different from Bluetooth, in that it doesn't require pairing, as Bluetooth devices do. The YID-W10's yAired features wireless operation for remote control from an iPod or iPhone, uncompressed wireless audio transmission (linear PCM), and real-time audio/video synchronization.
Other benefits of the YID-W10 Wireless System include charging of your docked iPod or iPhone, wireless control of the compatible RX-V667 A/V receiver's volume using your iPod or iPhone, and listening to your device's tunes on the receiver when using the system.
In addition to these functions, the system also boasts high sound quality with rich, dynamic bass, excellent synchronization between sound and video when watching movies on your iPod or iPhone, and lossless signal transmission to achieve wireless sound quality.

Comments about Yamaha YID-W10 Wireless System for iPod:
It connects flawlessly to the RX-A1000 receiver. I am now able to listen to all my music without being tethered to a cable or headphones. Usually the iPod will hold a charge for days of playing, but this eats up the battery pretty quickly (since you are using the iPod battery to power the wireless).
