For a while now I've been using fingerless gloves during cold-weather shooting. This would, of course, allow me to access my camera's controls rather easily - however it would also lead to freezing finger-tips and discomfort rather quickly. I wanted something that would keep my hands and fingers warm... while still allowing me to access my camera's controls with the accuracy that only a bare finger can offer.
These gloves do the trick perfectly!
The fit is very good... and the lining keeps my hands quite warm, even in freezing conditions.
It is very easy to flip back the thumb and index finger covers... and the built-in magnets help keep the flaps secured and out of the way, so there isn't the annoyance of a flapping finger cover.
These gloves are very comfortable... and I find that movement feels very natural - and not restrictive in the slightest.
If I had to come up with a "con" - I would say that the lining in the thumb and index-finger flaps is a bit skimpy. Normally that isn't a problem... but in extremely cold weather I find that I notice that it's thinner in those fingers. Of course, in extremely cold weather I don't want to be shooting anyway - so that isn't a problem for me. I would imagine that if they "beefed-up" the insulation in the flaps it would make them more difficult to remove and put back on... and then we'd be complaining about that instead!
These gloves are so comfortable that I don't just wear them for shooting... they are my primary winter gloves... allowing me to easily use other items such as my iPhone, iPod, outdoor ATM machines, etc.. I wear them just about every day... and have no complaints about their comfort, quality, construction or durability.
I highly recommend them!

I bought this gloves less than a month for this winter and when I got them, it didn't fit. My hand is size LARGE and I bought the L size.
The first week using, it did open a hole in the seam.
I'm not satisfied and I wouldn't buy again.

Comments about Freehands Men's Stretch Thinsulate Gloves (Large, Black):
I have the thinner version of these gloves and LOVE them. I wanted a thicker pair for real winter shooting. These gloves are really nice. They are thick but not bulky. They keep your hands nice and toasty in really cold weather and wind. The only problem I have is they run super small. I ordered the Men's large, and they are tight. For comparison, I usually wear a ladies M.

These are warm and allow me to use my cameras easily without taking the gloves off.
This model isn't for super-cold weather -- for that, Freehands makes a heavier pair. But these are very comfortable with temperatures in the 20s.

Comments about Freehands Men's Stretch Thinsulate Gloves (Large, Black):
For photography in cold weather, these gloves are a great idea. The implementation of the idea is somewhat less than perfect, but they're helpful nonetheless.
They're fairly warm and comfortable, but the big feature, of course, is the removable fingertips, which, when removed allow good dexterity to operate a camera. I found the issue to be putting the fingertips back on. It's pretty fiddly to get them to go all the way back on. I think this could be designed better, to make it fast and easy to remove and put back the fingertips on the fingers.
But, they seem to work as well as any other such glove on the market (that I know of). Not perfect, but I'm using them anyway.

Nice gloves, but a bit tight. Follow the advice of other reviewers....order one size larger than you normally would. Visit they're website for more info.

I just returned from a 3 week shooting trip to Washington, Oregon and California. Being from Hawaii, I was very concerned about getting cold and having proper protection. I purchased these because I have had trouble in the past working the camera controls with gloves. These worked wonderfully! They were the best new item I have purchased and I would say are a must-have item for, not only any photographer, but anyone with a smart phone too! It was so convenient to use my IPhone with these as well, which is a total pain with traditional gloves - having to take them on and off constantly. I love these gloves and am only now a little dissappointed that I won't be able to wear them more here in Hawaii! Again, a must-have item for photographers and anyone with a phone in their pocket.

Comments about Freehands Men's Stretch Thinsulate Gloves (Large, Black):
This glove is great an perfect for cold weather shooting. The only issue appears to be they run a little small. I normally wear a large glove, but when I put these on and flex my fingers they become overly snug and my finger tips feel like they're about to bust out of the seams. I had to exchange my L for an XL set.

Comments about Freehands Men's Stretch Thinsulate Gloves (Large, Black):
Freehands have come up with a fine idea but did not research hand sizing enough. I bought these as gifts and bought several sizes for friends. I had to ship them all back for the next size up-on my dime. Have say B&H was very accommodating, patient and helpful with the process. The lady's large size finally fit, and I would say her hands would not in any way be categorized as large. I re-ordered all Men's XL's for other shooters I know and they still don't exactly fit my long but narrow hands, still have to see what they say. The glove's finger 'crotch' isn't much different from the large size. Somewhere in-between my first knuckle and palm, plus the glove is tight which I find makes it colder. I don't think these were made with the wilderness shooter in mind, more like for a shooter at a long hockey game or when you are not out for extended periods in real cold. Deciding still whether or not to return and look for alternative glove system. Build seems to be strong and tailored well enough. Price was a draw and on the swap BH kind enough to maintain. Thinsulate was a big selling point too. Hope that helps. I would reccommend them if you find yourself shooting outdoors a lot in mid-atlantic winter weather and need fingertip control or you are a warm blooded sort and need only a decent covering to stave off the cold.

Comments about Freehands Men's Stretch Thinsulate Gloves (Large, Black):
I feel that the fingers of the gloves that are available to fold back are not as warm / insulated as the rest of the gloves. I also found that sizing between medium and large was a jump; I'd have loved something right between the two!
Overall, the concept works as expected and it is really nice not to have to pull off my glove(s) to operate my iPhone. The little magnets to hold the flaps out of the way are a clever idea.
Customer service was great to deal with in keeping the large and returning the medium. Thank you!

These gloves are great and keep your hands warm, but I sized and ordered per the recommended chart and while they fit, they feel a little tight. The thumb and finger flip covers are great for camera adjustments, but they do not include any insulation so when covered, you fingers are still cold.
