The Link Electronics DFR-8310 OpenGear Multi-definition Frame (Frame Controller Card) is a 2 RU modular frame, designed to accommodate up to 10 modules of the OpenGear 8200 Multi-definition product family. It allows you to have analog or digital, video or audio, all in 1 single frame and is equipped with analog video sync and AES/EBU DARS looping reference inputs. The frame includes a 150W power supply with an integrated cooling fan, a status LED, and a front-mounted power switch.

Installing any OpenGear module into any slot using the fixed 100-BNC rear I/O module without any limitations is permitted. The DFR-8310 OpenGear frame also supports slot-dependent rear I/O modules for applications where other types of I/O connections are necessary. The advanced cooling architecture of the frame increases ventilation. It can be used without cooling fans for applications where the total module power load is less than 40W, whereas an optional cooling fan can be added where the total module power load is greater than 40W.

With features such as SMPTE-fault reporting and monitoring and an Ethernet port, the DFR-8310 is compatible with any OpenGear module. The unit includes the MFC-8310-N frame controller card to exchange information with an external monitoring/control system over an Ethernet network.
