Novation Dicer Cue Point & Looping DJ Controller
The Novation Dicer Cue Point & Looping DJ Controller is a compact, surface mounted control surface for use with Serato Scratch, and other DJ software titles. Dicer lets DJs easily trigger cue points, loop points, samples and much more. Easy to use controls illuminate in red, green and orange to indicate Serato's Hot-Cue, Loop Roll and Auto-Loop modes.
The Dicer is designed to corner-mount into the 45-adapter slot found on the Technics SL-1200 and SL-1210, leaving the controls within inches of the software control vinyl. Novation includes a "DJ Putty" adhesive for mounting the Dicer onto CD-decks, laptops and other flat surfaces. With the Novation Dicer, DJs can enjoy quick looping and triggering without touching their laptops, or investing in bulky hardware.

- Scratch Live is so much more than mixing digital music. Its creative features such as cueing and looping, take DJ performance to a totally new level. Dicer unlocks these features by putting them right at your fingertips while you're mixing. Dicer's 3 "mode" buttons allow you to jump between 3 different performance modes.
- Right Where You Need It
- Dicer fixes solidly to Technics 1200/1210 turntables. An attachment enables you to drop them into the 45-adapter slot so they sit squarely in the corner of the turntable. Dicer also comes with re-usable "DJ Putty" that will stick Dicer firmly to CDJs, laptops, mixers - or any hard surface. The putty is strong enough to withstand tough treatment, so even with more vigorous performances Dicer will stay exactly where you put it.
- Control Anything
- In Serato Scratch Live, as well as the three main modes, there are 2 additional "layers" of the 5 pads, on which you can control other functions in your software (a total of 20 controls across a pair of Dicers).
- Compatible with Other DJ Software
- Although Dicer has been designed to integrate with Serato, it also works with other DJ software. Setup files for Traktor Scratch and Traktor Scratch Pro are available online. These files assign Dicer's controls to various functions, including Cueing, Play/Stop, Looping, FX and browsing. For other DJ Software, you can use the software's own MIDI mapping function. A pair of Dicers give you a total of 60 MIDI controls.

- Backlit, multi-color, soft touch "dice" buttons, provide immediate LED feedback from Serato Scratch Live software.
- Default Setup for Serato Scratch Live
- Dicer is pre-programmed to take advantage of the cue point and looping functions in Serato Scratch Live, including "Hot Cues", "Auto Roll" and "Loop Roll".
- Works with All Major DJ Software
- Dicer is fully MIDI assignable, so it can be set up to control almost any software, including Traktor Scratch Pro. Up to 60 assignable MIDI controls are available from a pair of Dicers.
- USB Bus-Powered
- Dicer gets all the power it needs from a single USB cable, with no need for an external power supply. A mini Jack cable transmits power and data to the second Dicer.
- A Fully Cass Compliant MIDI Device
- The Dicer is a plug and play device, so no need to install any drivers.

I would have given 5 stars if it came with a carrying case. They say that the dicers are sturdy enough to just throw in your DJ bag, but I'd prefer a little padding or a hard case with a place to keep the cables handy. This works great with Serato 2.1. I didn't realize that in addition to the three built in settings you also have shift levels (where you hold one button down while pressing another) that can be used to control other functions of serato like triggering samples etc, so that makes it great!

However you should note that these don't do anything serato can't already do on its own. Additionally if you have cdjs such as the 1200mk3 then you can already do the same features albeit in a different way using your cdjs looping and serato in absolute mode.
Overall this is a fun, cheap novel controller for serato that you can use as shortcuts to easily loop and roll bpm matched tracks in serato.

Before i would use my laptop to repeat a que over and over as to create my own beat before i play a song. However, with a laptop the cursor moves when u do this rapidly, of course u know how bad that would b with a live audience. With dicer that can never happen so i can really do me when it comes to editing/mixing a part of a song and setting que points fast.

Absolutely wonderful, cue points at the touch of a button on vinyl, very awesome. Havent had any serious problems out of mine. If you unplug them and plug them back in (via usb not 1/8th) they wont work till you restart Serato.. so... don't unplug em! Thats the only issue I have had and that was my fault (kinda). In version 2.2 the Dicers dont want to be reprogrammed.

Adds alot of possibilities to your set....Fits nicely in 45 adpater slot and causes no needle bounce when using. The 10 user programmable midis for each dicer are awesome. Looping on the fly and beat rolling without having to lift your hands from the turntable is where its at! Get These if you use real turntables(1200s) and serato.

I think these controllers are great. They are small and fit right into any turntable setup you already have. If you are just DJing off of your laptop, then maybe these are not for you, but then again, maybe you are not really DJing. Over all, these are very sturdy, and the buttons are nice and snappy.
