discWelder BRONZE 1000m from Minnetonka is an easy to use software application that provides an inexpensive way to produce simple DVD-Audio, DVD-Video, and Compact Discs from high resolution stereo audio files. With a single mouse click, it duplicates any DVD-Audio content into a disc's Video Zone, creating "universal" titles that play on any DVD system, not just specialized DVD-A players.
The software is able to produce a mirrored video layer that preserves the original sample rates of stereo files up to 96kHz, allowing users to create a universal, DVD-V + DVD-A formatted audio title with 24-bit/96kHz material, that plays on any DVD player worldwide. This provides for much better fidelity, and because of the larger capacity of a DVD, offers extended playing time relative to a Compact Disc - 192kHz source files are sample rate converted to 96kHz, in keeping with the DVD-Video standard.
discWelder BRONZE 1000m also allows users to burn DVD-Audio discs with gapless playback of up to 24-bit/192kHz stereo mixes. It can down-sample high resolution files and create CDs within the same authoring project. It also imports linear PCM files in 16- and 24-bit/44.1 to 192kHz sampling rates. A unique feature of the software is its ability to convert 2.8MHz DSD or Direct Stream Digital formatted audio to a 48 or 96kHz PCM WAV file that can then be imported into any DAW, or included on a universal disc.

Comments about Minnetonka discWelder Bronze 1000m - DVD-Audio Production and DSD Conversion:
I use discWelder Bronze 1000M to make DVD-Audio discs from high-resolution digital files edited with Sound Forge Pro V. 10. After converting my markers to regions in Sound Forge, I extract the regions to a new folder. Then I use discWelder to make a DVD-Audio disc from these individual files, one file per track. discWelder Bronze 1000M is an excellent program, making professional DVD-Audio discs at a very affordable price. It's easy to use and produces superb-sounding discs. Under the Disc menu, I recommend selecting the gapless method for making discs, which defeats the automatic 2-second gap between tracks. This is especially important in classical recordings where you may have tracks in the middle of continuous music. discWelder joins the files seamlessly this way. Silence between tracks, if desired, should be inserted with your digital editing software prior to authoring a DVD with discWelder.
One annoyance: After registering the program, I got an automated email reply telling me to download the latest version, 1024. IGNORE THIS!! This is an older version, which you do not want. Minnetonka should correct this very confusing email instruction.
Also, when you click on Help, About, you are told that you have V. 1.1, even though you purchased V. 1.2. Minnetonka's Andrew Neumiller assured me that this is correct - 1.1 is the latest version for Windows; if you install the program on a Mac, you'll have version 1.2. Finally, when you click on Help, Online Help, nothing happens. This is a glitch according to Neumiller. Just view or print the PDF file of the manual after you unpack the downloaded ZIP file. The PDF manual has exactly the same contents that the non-functional Online Help link should have had.
So, there are a couple glitches, but nothing to detract from a 5-star rating for a superb program.
I purchased separate copies for my work and my home computers.
