The hardware is unimpeachable -- image quality is great! The slideshow function has four horrifying limitations, though: 1) you can show your pictures sorted by name or date, but you can NOT have them display randomly. 2) There is no "stretch images to fit screen" option -- in regular mode, the program shrinks images fine, but all my older, smaller shots (which all blow up nicely) appear too small on the screen. (There's a random blow up mode, but then you miss parts of your images.) 3) The program displays baseline JPEGS perfectly, but it canNOT handle progressive JPEGS -- they distort, often very badly -- and I'm finding they account for about 20% of my shots, so THAT's a drag. Also they could use more image transition options (there are a couple of basic choices available now). And there doesn't seem to be a "software upgrade" provision for when they fix these issues, as I'm certain they eventually will. So despite the fact that it's a great box, maybe you should wait if any of these software shortcomings are as important to you as they are too me.

Comments about Aluratek ADMPF119 19" Digital Photo Frame (Black):
We are using the frame in a church to display photos of recent events. Currently we have over 200 photos stored in the memory of the unit with plans to add another 250 photos by the end of the Summer. We bought the unit in the beginning of May. It has been running 24-7 since May 1 without a glitch.
Setup and installation were very easy with clear directions and user-friendly interface. Wiring is minimal and can be easily secured.
The only minor drawback is that the power supply is a transformer brick. Hardly the end of the world, but I would have preferred not having the intervening brick. A straight wire would be better.

We are extremely pleased with the digital photo frame. It is sleek and attractive. It will be used in museum exhibit space. The programing is still a bit confusing but we are not geeks. We will get it figured out. We are happy to have it.

Pros - Frame has good image quality and is competitively priced.
Cons – Menu is not at all intuitive and the instruction book is miserable. Also, the fade transition between images is worse than useless – rather than a smooth fade, the screen flickers a few times, then the image jumps to the next one without a fade.

I want to use mine in portrait orientation to show off my images. Build quality is great, resolution is amazing, design and color fits well with lots of surroundings. I had to return mine because when used in portrait orientation the viewing angle was only about 20 degrees on one side.

would be ok for still jpegs but not good for video.
i couldn't get it to take my video files even after exhaustive customer support.
so i took it back and got a 19" dvd/tv instead which works the same and easily plays the video on a dvd as a loop.

Easy to set up and link with my laptop via the cable that was provided. Music was a easy as drag and drop, volume control on remote is helpful.
Image looks great. We are going to purchase another.
I did not get audio with the video on the first try - need to give it another try or call for help when I have time. Pretty sure it was user related.

Bought this for a digital signage application and was thrilled. It had a high defintion picture and was easy to set up. Comes with a adjustable backing or just hang it like a normal frame. Most professional panels I looked at were double the price.

Good image quality, 1440 by 900 is great if you resize/recrop your images to 16:9 aspect ratio.
Video will not fill screen, AVI video (only video format that works)does not support 1440 by 900.
Factory support suggests 1280 by 720 leaving a gap on
sides, top and bottom. If you don't care about video, and like16:9, this is a great digital frame.

I bought this frame for the usual digital picture frame purpose of a continuous slide show. The software allows 3 settings: fast, faster, fastest. The "slowest" setting keeps the picture up for 12 seconds - not what I was looking for (wanted 10 minutes). [...]
