The Velbon GEO E530 3-Section Carbon Fiber Tripod features lightweight, sturdy legs that are actually composed of a carbon fiber and basalt composite. This hybrid material affords greater strength and rigidity for supporting DSLR cameras outfitted with heavier telephoto lenses. With a maximum height of 61.8" and a load capacity of 16 lb, the tripod still weighs in at only 2.8 lb.
The legs of the E530 feature quick-lever locks and a spiral-etched surface that makes their retraction and extension smoother and faster. For shooting on rough terrain, each leg hides a spike. This emerges by twisting and retracting the rubber foot, which is ideal for smooth, slippery surfaces.

Comments about Velbon GEO E530 3-Section Carbon Fiber Tripod:
If you want simplicity in a tripod, this is the one for you. I know from experience that if a tripod has too many knobs and dials, I just won't use it, it's too cumbersome. This one is as simple as can be and still has all of the features I need. I love it and I actually look forward to using it each time I take it out of my bag. It's lightweight, it sets up easily, and I can adjust it without thinking, which means I can concentrate on my subject rather than my gear. I was pleasantly surprised by the good build quality.
