This is a simple design that is generally quite serviceable. There are specialized jobs it can't do depending how a lens is assembled. Years ago I bought one that looks just like this one, and after a while one tip broke, because it is hardened steel that is brittle, but it may have had an internal fault. This new one has worked fine.
