The Kalt Hi-Grade Stainless Steel Reel uses a heavier grade steel, and holds one roll of 35mm format film for development & processing in a standard stainless steel tank.
The film clips to the center and is gently rolled on to the reel.

Comments about Kalt 35mm Stainless Steel Reel HI-Grade:
I paid extra for this item expecting it to be a smoothly operating reel. Instead, I got something that's worse than the bent reel I was trying to replace. I can feel how warped the grooves are by just passing my finger along the interior. I've used stainless reels in personal and professional environments, and this is the worst one I've ever set my hands on.

I agree with the review above. The welding quality is better than the cheaper items which you can find [...]. I finally returned the cheaper one and took this. I am happy with this now

Comments about Kalt 35mm Stainless Steel Reel HI-Grade:
After a miserable experience with the lowest price 35mm film reels (see my review), I was pleased to find that these top of the low-priced line of reels do their job perfectly. The reels are marked "Made in Japan," and do have welds that do not obstruct film winding, and top and bottoms that are parallel. The center clip is a little stiff, so it does take a little practice to get started straight.
