The Bescor LED-60AAK 60W LED Compact Light & Battery Box uses twin, high-output LED bulbs to produce the equivalent of 60W of light, using only 1.2 amps of power. And since it uses LED technology, it never gets hot to the touch. The kit includes a power/battery box that houses 4 AA alkaline or rechargeable NiMH batteries and slips easily into the battery carry bag for convenient transport. A hook-and-loop belt attachment lets you wear the power around your waist, or you can use the two touch fasteners to mount the light wherever you need it. Also included are two filters that slide easily into the light's housing--one for diffusion, the other a yellow 4500K for changing color balance. A completely adjustable dimmer switch lets you set the light's intensity to any level you desire.

Pros:
We use this light kit for HD video on the DSLRs and for some low light stills (instead of strobe). For the size and cost, the power and soft edge of the light quality is exceptional. I wish the battery pack was built in, but the velcro loop on it makes it easy to attach to the camera bracket or monopod.
Surprisingly bright for a 2 LED, 4AA package.
Cons: The adjustable light output wheel is heavily weighted, not even. From the dimmest position, you turn the wheel to brighten the light a small bit and it rapidly increases in power in the first 1/2 turn. Then the increase rate is very small over the remainder of the distance. Just makes precise light output a bit harder since the control is so coarse.
Also: note this light is very cool in color temp. You don't want to use it w/o a filter. It comes with a nice plastic slide-in color filter to warm the light to balance with incandescent. BAD. The filter is overly green. Looks outright aweful if you set your camera's white balance to match typical warm tungsten lights. I tried everything. I can't be helped. I threw it out and instead use the colored gels that come with my flash, slide them in behind the diffuser on the light head. Perfect.
Overall, though, for this price, very pleased and was able to fix the 'problems' easily as described.

Wimpy light. Even a full frame DSLR sensor like the Canon 5D will barely benefit from the output of this light. Try using a 1/3" chip and you'll laugh.
The white balance is not even in the blue-orange continuum. It's a weird green, which is not compatible with other sources of LED light. Balance for one or the other, but you'll be left with mixed light temps. And the two slip-in color filters are a total joke. Unrealistic color, with some strange texture to them (diffusion?) Diffusion is the LAST thing this light needs.
Also the power connection (an RCA break in the line!?) is clearly there to make using alternative power sources (eg. D-tap from camera battery), next to impossible. There is no other reason in the world to use an RCA connection for to a power source.

I tried this light for hand-held video work but ended up returning it for a refund. It was not as bright as I had hoped it would be and the power cord to the battery pack was a bit too short. The coiled part of the power cord did not stretch very easily. I think this light might be ok in certain situations but did not appeal to me for doing paid video jobs.

I shoot docs and freelance news with a Sony V1U. I needed a light with it's own power supply and this really works for me. Light weight and enough light for interviews. The adjustable power wheel for the light is a nice feature if you are shooting a subject wearing a hat during the day and you just need to fill.
