The Dulce Systems 16TB Pro FCa 4Gb "Dual Controller" Active-Active Failover Fibre Channel RAID Storage is a professional storage system, designed for use in performance-intensive environments. It's certified for use with Final Cut Studio, Premiere and other popular video editors. It supports ProRes, DV, DVCPRO, HD, HDV, uncompressed SD/HD and 2k film formats. Pro FCa technology affords superior workflow and supports up to 14 real-time streams, depending on the video resolution.
The two 4GB Fibre Channel ports work together to increase data rates up to 900 MB/s. They're also backward compatible with 2Gb infrastructures and will plug and play in existing Fibre Channel networks. The built-in expander promotes cost-effective storage capacity expansion. A 16 drive array can be daisy chained to three other arrays, increasing the total number of drives to 64.
The Pro FCa arrays are SAN ready. Fibre Channel interface is the standard interface for high speed Storage Area Network applications. The Pro FCa can be deployed in a 2-workstation configuration when the workflow requires multiple artists/workstations to access the same project or files at a rapid rate of speed. With an additional Fibre Channel switch (sold separately), multiple workstations can be set up. It's compatible with metaSAN, Xsan, and other share storage management software
The 7200 RPM SATA II 3Gb/s high-performance disk drives are hot-swappable and the ultra-fast hardware RAID controller supports RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 5, RAID 6 and JBOD. It's compatible with PC, Mac and Linux. Plus, this model features a hot-swappable power supply system.

- The active active Pro FCa has two very fast 4Gb Fibre Channel ports connected to a high performance RAID controller based on a high power RISC storage processor with embedded RAID 6 XOR engine. The two active active 4Gb Fibre Channel ports work together to increase data throughput up to 900 MB/s
- RAID Functions
- Supporting the latest in RAID protection technology, the Pro FCa supports all standard RAID levels; 0 for striping, 1 for disk mirroring, 5 for efficient balance of drive protection and performance as well as RAID 6 double disk protection for enterprise class requirements. It also supports JBOD
- Daisy Chain Expansion
- When additional storage is required the Pro FCa can be increased in capacity with the built-in expander. The optional Pro Xa can be daisy chained up to 3x from the Pro FCa RAID head, creating a total of 64 drives of very high speed online access
- SAN Ready
- The dual ported Pro FCa can be deployed in a two workstation configuration without the need of an expensive Fibre Channel Switch. Just apply your favorite SAN management software and you are ready to go. In a larger shared environment, the Pro FCa works well with 3rd party Fibre Channel switches and host adapters
