The MuxLab 500023 CCTV Mini Balun allows transmission up to 2200' (670m) of single CCTV video signal via Cat5 UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair) cable, eliminating the need for coaxial cable. Providing a hassle-free cabling solution, it connects to the CCTV security / surveillance equipment that includes cameras, DVRs, video switchers, monitors, sequencers, multiplexers, and other CCTV equipments.

The mini balun is used in pairs to transmit standard composite video and supports transmission of color signals up to 1200' (365m) via Cat3; it can be extended to 2200' (670m) via Cat5. For b&w signals, the maximum transmission distance is up to 1500' (457m) via Cat3 and can be extended up to 2500' (762m) via Cat5.

Working in conjunction with other MuxLab CCTV baluns (500000, 500009, and 500015), the balun provides a complete cabling solution. Made of ABS fire retardant plastic, the mini coax lead cable securely fits between the CCTV dome camera and the back box.
